MarkandIwereattackedbyapackofwilddogswhenwewerewalkingthroughthewoodsafterleavingKatie’sparty.Theywerehuge—likewolves?Thereweremaybesixofthemandtheysurroundedus.Webothgotbitten.TheyknockedusdownbutImanagedtogetupandhitoneofthemhardonthesideoftheheadwithabranch.Wekeptswingingbranchesandtheyfinallyjustranoffintothewoods,allatonceasagroup.

Itwaslatebutthemoonwasout,andwe’vecutthroughthereamilliontimesbefore.Idon’tunderstandwheretheycamefrom—Ididn’tthinktherewereanywolvesaroundhere.

LastnightIdreamtIwasrunninginthewoods,andtherewerealltheserabbitseverywhere.Hundredsofthem,allrunningawayfromme.AndIranafterthem.Chasingthem,tearingthemapart.Dreamendedwithmesittinginafieldwearinganecklaceofrabbitbonesaroundmyneck.

Iwokeupshakingandhungryandwentdownstairsandateapackageoflunchmeatwhilestandinginfrontofthefridge.Replacedthesteakstoday,goingtohavetoreplacethelunchmeattomorrow.I’mwonderingifIshouldbuysomemoreanywayincaseIenduphavinganotherofthese“midnightsnacks.”
