Wendy will speak to your club re Birthing Kits Would you like to help mothers and babies in developing countries for less than the cost of a cup of coffee? Is your club looking for an inexpensive international project that can save the lives of mothers and babies? It is estimated that over 300,000 women die annually in childbirth, many from preventable infections. That’s over 800 women every day. The death of newborns within the first month makes up 44% of all childhood deaths. Rotary can help to reduce the incidence of infant and maternal morbidity and mortality by providing a clean and safe birthing environment for women in developing countries. There is a great need for birthing kits in developing countries, distributed by Donations in Kind. I am available and willing to speak at your meeting to show how you can make a difference for less than $2 per kit.
