Program Description The goal of this continuing education activity is to provide clinically current information on the technical, medical, and nursing aspects of perinatal, neonatal, obstetrical and family care as well as the legal and eth- ical implications related to that care. The conference bridges both maternal and neonatal issues highlighting the interrelated nature of the outcomes of care in this population. Through the attendance and perspective of maternal and neonatal nurses, the conference encour- ages the development of relationships for mutual assis- tance to improve health care delivery to pregnant women and newborn infants. Target Audience Perinatal & Neonatal nurses, faculty, allied health pro- fessionals, and health professional students. Overall Program Objectives Improve clinical practice by incorporating patho- physiologic concepts into the assessment, manage- ment and nursing care of women and neonates. Describe emerging technologies and pharmacolog- ic advances, their indications for use and impact on the outcomes of women and neonates. Discuss patient management strategies related to selected maternal and neonatal diagnoses Integrate evidence-based nursing practice and cur- rent research findings into the care of women, neonates and their families Continuing Education in Nursing Sentara Healthcare is an approved provider of continu- ing nursing education by the Virginia Nurses Associa- tion, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This activity has been submitted to the Virginia Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Fees: $135 Non-Sentara Healthcare employees;

$15 per day for full-time students.

Payment must accompany registration.

Registration is limited - Register early! The registra-tion fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and certif-icate of attendance. There will be NO WORKBOOK in keeping with Sentara’s efforts to GO GREEN. Confirma-tion emails will be sent to those individuals who include their email address on the registration form, otherwise, no confirmation will be sent. Children are not permitted at the symposium.

Registration deadline is October 14h, 2016. An addi-tional fee of $25.00 will be required for late registrations. The registration fee will be refunded, if notification of cancellation is received before October 10th; however, $25.00 will be retained to cover processing costs. The late registration fee will not be refunded.
