FAR

HERE:

Wooddaler Dottie Anderson has volunteered in the role of a disciple maker for the last 62 years! Dottie became a believer in Jesus at Macalester College through The Navigators Ministry, a Christian outreach ministry on the campus. For the next year she was discipled in her spiritual journey by another woman through The Navigators.

Dottie has discipled over 50 people in these 62 years. Some were couples that she and her husband, Roger, who was on The Navigators staff, mentored together. Some were the wives on The Navigators staff.

She has also mentored many young women through Wooddale’s 1-1 Spiritual Mentoring ministry. She and her husband led Wooddale’s mentoring training for 14 years. Dottie continues to mentor young women at Wooddale and also serves on the 1-1 Spiritual Mentoring Leadership Team, which gives vision and direction to 1-1 Spiritual Mentoring at Wooddale.

Why has Dottie so faithfully served in mentoring and discipling all these years? “I see personal one-on-one mentoring as the best way I know to help individuals grow more in depth in their relationship with God. Mentors can come alongside and help them apply the Scriptures to their lives so they get their roots down into God and draw up nourishment from Him.”

Dottie has a Kingdom perspective regarding spiritual mentoring. She believes followers of Jesus should always be in a mentoring relationship, either mentoring or being mentored, no matter how far along a person is in their spiritual journey. She comments, “As those being discipled grow in spiritual maturity, they can be used by God to do the same with others, thus being part of the answer to Jesus’ prayer for more laborers in His Kingdom.”

Invite Friends and Family to Wooddale This MonthWe have been planning our Christmas season at Wooddale for many months and are thrilled that December is finally here. We hope that you plan to bring your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to the great events planned for all generations. A very special thank you to the hundreds of volunteers of all ages who have helped decorate, prepare invitations, set up events and create the ice rinks. Others are preparing and practicing for events and services. Still more will greet and welcome. And an untold number will be behind the scenes servants! Thank you!

Preparing the HousePart of our planning involves the installation of some lighting and sound equipment (specifically speakers) that are on loan for the month of December, specifically for Christmas events. We especially want the sound in the Worship Center to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the many guests we will have in December as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus. We have also been decorating in anticipation of the arrival of you and all our guests! Welcome!

It is with much excitement and anticipation that we invite you to:

The skating rinks will also be open for your enjoyment (weather permitting). There will be hosts throughout the building to help new guests.

It is with great anticipation that we celebrate the birth of our Savior and look forward to an evening full of wonderful music, a meaningful engaging message by Pastor Dale and a multi-generational atmosphere of worship for Jesus Christ our new born King.
