Who is your Neighborhood Planner?

• Monique Coleman, MPA• From Graham, Texas (by Possum Kingdom Lake)• Attended Texas Tech University

– Received Bachelors and Masters from Tech• Worked for the City of Lubbock during Masters program • Joined the City of Plano in October 2006• Have completed 4 neighborhood plans in Plano, two of

which were adopted by City Council• Have conducted one Neighborhood Workshop for Plano

What is Neighborhood Planning?

• Neighborhood planning is an opportunity for citizens to shape the type of neighborhood they would like to live in and their overall quality of life.

Neighborhood Action Plans

• A Neighborhood Plan is a set of recommendations about how to improve a given area of a city. These recommendations are used to guide decision-makers in future projects pertaining to the neighborhood.

• Currently, we have completed:– 15 Full-Scale Plans– 6 Fast-Track Plans
