Welcome to the 10th Yaboumba congress!

In 2004, an idea occurred in my mind: why not organize a Yaboumba congress... Come on ... let's be crazy, let’s organize the first congress in ... Cambodia ! More than 80 vets had followed me there. This congress was epic in many ways, professionally and humanly. For a first try, I did not choose the most simple task. So much, so that in return, at the Singapore airport, I just did a syncope!

Quickly recovered from this «little» state transition, we went the following year in Kenya! The Yaboumba Congress alone became a real institution. The idea was then to switch places with a year in Paris and another, somewhere else in the world.In 2007 and 2011, respectively, Costa Rica and the Azores welcomed us. In 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2012, it’s my "mother house" - the National Museum of Natural History, who hosted us.

The most emotional memory, the most poignant, most beautiful, remains the congress in 2010 where I was co-chairman with Mr. Pr. Murray Fowler, the mentor of mentors, respected by all wildlife veterinarians. We had gathered more than 320 people, all under the spell of this legendary figure. A page was turned. I knew that I could never again organize an event with so powerful emotions, at least for me. However, the Congress continued, but in 2012, I announced that I would stop everything, at least many things ... Mr. Fowler passed away in 2014. A page was really turned. We stopped at the ninth edition ... with a kind of an unfinished feeling.It took four years to reach the tenth edition. Today we, my colleagues and friends of the first time, have evolved, grown a bit, matured (the latter remains unproven). Young people are becoming increasingly involved. The landscape has changed, more training, more techniques, more knowledge, and so much the better. This tenth congress is organized on a human scale, with the desire to share as the sole claim. I can’t describe to you my feelings, maybe too personal ... With you to discover yours by coming among us ...
