Thank you for reviewing our latest edition of the “Did You Know?” Once again, due to popular demand, we are happy to publish the guide to our People, Products and Procedures. It seems that our agents and company partners alike appreciate the message sent through this appealing publication.
Our 50th Anniversary is fast approaching and, as we plan for our future, we are most pleased with our association with many long-standing employees, our faithful agency producers, and our ever present strong and reliable markets. All of these factors combined make us proud as we reach our 50th milestone!
Over the recent years, there have been several mergers and acquisi-tions of both retail agents and wholesalers, or MGA’s. Many of these acquisitions have been by banks, holding companies, investors, and larger conglomerate insurance institutions. While this is acceptable for some companies, we prefer the independence and flexibility that is possible by maintaining private ownership. We feel that this gives us the opportunity to respond quickly and to identify with the needs of our producers - most of whom are just like us - Independent Family Owned Businesses.
As we move out of “the Great Recession” and into a “firmer” insurance market, we anticipate a need for greater service and a lineup of new and faster tools to make it “easier to do busi-ness” for our production partners. Here are just a few of the tools and programs available:
· SIU’s Direct Bill Program
· Easy Pay options available, online payment by Credit Card
· Integrated Premium Finance Solutions through Siuprem, Inc.
· E-Policy delivery program
· Programs - several new markets and programs available
· SIUrate - instant online quoting and binding with over 200 classes
· Data back-up and disaster recovery program
· Agency Portal - agents now have the ability to update their own contact information online
· Online Hartford quoting - Business Owners Policy quotes within seconds
· Access to SIU’s rent a Captive Insurance Company: Green Mountain
Again, thank you for supporting SIU, SIUPREM and other related companies through the past tough years. We are ready to serve you, our customer, with excellent service that you deserve and we thank you for your business!
Sincerely, Wes Duesenberg, Jr., CIW President, Southern Insurance Underwriters, Inc.
