Students created pumpkin creatures in order to respond to a writing prompt about a pumpkin that turned into a creature over night.
Crazy creature!
Creating our creatures...
Creative!
Tada!
Writing about our pumpkin creatures...
We have such amazing writers!
We are filling in our elaborated paragraph template.
Students earned a pig by selling for our fundraiser. As a result, we raced in the pig race!
Our pig operator.
Getting ready...
The pigs are racing!
We won a pizza party! Mrs. Bourne's class did too!
Our class raised over $20 for the local food pantry and won a pumpkin to decorate. Here's what the students did!
Students carved a pumpkin on the SmartBoard during our fall celebration. Thanks to Mrs. Geniuch and all the parents for helping with our celebration. The kids had a blast!
We're celebrating our hard work.
Smile!
As a culminating science activity on sound, students made guitars to create high and low pitches. They learned that their guitar could produce a high pitch sound if the elastics were tightly wrapped around the box or a low pitch sound if a long elastic was placed loosely around their box.
Wow! This is fun!
Students adding their strings to their guitars.

Students made paper rockets and flew them, recording each student's distance. Then, they made a line plot of their data. Congratulations to Cameron whose rocket flew the farthest~22 feet!
More rocket fun! Duck!
Students are learning the cause and effect brainframe from the EmPOWER writing program.
More EmPOWER practice...we love to write!
