Puzzle Pieces Get
Acquainted Activity
• Put the X side down so you can’t see it. Write your name.
This will be the side that you do your work. (Your drawing
must be on the side of your puzzle piece without the X.)
• Think of a science memory you have experienced during
your life (or many). It might be related to a world event, a
news story, your family, community, or a previous class
you’ve taken; but you are not limited to these ideas.
• Now draw a symbol or picture to represent that
experience. You don’t have to be an artist. You can use
stick people and keep it basic, but please try to fill up the
puzzle piece. You may draw more than one thing.
• You may use the colored pencils and markers in the tray
on the student shelf at the front of the room.
• You will have 10 minutes to complete this.
Puzzle Pieces Get
Acquainted Activity
• When you have filled your puzzle piece with
words and/or a drawing, find your partner –
the person whose puzzle piece fits yours.
• Please shake their hand and introduce
yourselves to one another.
• Then share what you have written/drawn on
your puzzle piece.
• Next, get together with 2 other people and
introduce your partner to them and tell about
their puzzle piece.
