WELCOME TO GLEWSTONE COURT COUNTRY HOUSE
Nestled deep in the Herefordshire Countryside and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the Brecon Beacons, Glewstone Court makes the perfect Country House wedding venue.
Our beautiful Manor House still retains many of its Georgian and regency features dating back to the 19th century, including a spiral staircase rising from the entrance hall to a magnificent porticoed landing, and a 400 year old Cedar of Lebanon framing the driveway to beautifully landscaped gardens, a truly idyllic setting that creates a stunning backdrop for your special day.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and accommodating each couples specific needs with total commitment to the success of your special day.
THE VENUE
The splendor of the country house and surrounding beauty creates the perfect backdrop and lends itself wonderfully to the day of your dreams.
Glewstone Court will be exclusively yours for your entire wedding celebrations ensuring total privacy for you and your guests and enjoying the hotel and grounds as if it were your own. A real home from home with staff dedicated to making every moment special and unforgettable.
From initial enquiry our Events Manager, Amy will be personally on hand throughout the entire process to offer advice, guidance and support, bringing everything together on the day to create a truly memorable event.
THE CEREMONY
Glewstone Court Country House is also a licensed venue for Civil Ceremonies for up to 80 guests allowing you to host your full day within the beautiful surroundings.
This takes place in the drawing room with classical elements of Georgian architecture and period décor. The room features an open fire, soft colours and large bay windows with views across the garden and apple orchards. French doors leading into the courtyard make it perfect for celebratory drinks following the ceremony during finer weather. The hire of the drawing room for a ceremony is £500.

THE ORDER OF THE DAY
The timings below are based on a 1pm ceremony at Glewstone Court and demonstrates how your day may flow. We are incredibly flexible so please feel free to discuss any alternative timings and arrangements.
12:30pm – Guests arrive prior to the ceremony1:00pm – Ceremony begins1:30pm – Ceremony ends followed by drinks reception and photographs3:15pm – The wedding breakfast is announced and guests are seated3:30pm – The wedding breakfast is served5:30pm – Speeches take place back in the drawing room7:00pm – Evening guests begin to arrive 8:00pm – Cutting of the cake & first dance9:00pm – Evening Buffet is served11:45pm – Last orders at the barMidnight – Music finishes & bar closes
THE WEDDING BREAKFAST
Our Georgian Restaurant & Morning Room seats 80 guests on round tables of 10 for your wedding breakfast, the Drawing Room seats 60 guests on round tables of 10. For the evening reception the manor house can accommodate up to 150 guests.We can arrange for a marquee on the lawn, which can accommodate up to 150 seated and 200 for the evening reception, marquee hire will be quoted separately.
THE FOODWe offer Bespoke wedding packages that can be individually tailored to suit each couple. Our Two Rosette award-winning restaurant sources local produce wherever possible, preparing and presenting all food to the incredibly high standard that Glewstone is renowned for.
All of our menus give you a wide variety of dishes to choose from so you can craft your own wedding breakfast based on preference and a price per head. Please feel free to talk to us about modifying the menus to your specifications, we are incredibly flexible here and more than happy to cater for any special dietary requirements your guests may have.
A complimentary menu tasting prior to your wedding ensures you have exactly what you want for your big day.Alternatively, if you are looking for a more relaxed and informal day why not consider an English Afternoon Tea Reception, BBQ Wedding Breakfast or Fork Buffet.
THE BEDROOMS
Glewstone Court has 9 individually decorated bedrooms. The Gainsborough Suite is a beautiful spacious room with a 7-foot bed and stunning views of the gardens and rolling countryside. The suite is reserved for the Bride & Groom on the night of their wedding and perfect for the Bridal Party to get ready in on the morning of the wedding sleeping up to 6 the night before.
All rooms are situated on the first floor and have en-suite bathrooms. Each room offers excellent facilities and combine the charming traditional features of the hotel with modern décor.
You may wish to allocate all hotel rooms to the bridal party and close family & friends and we will provide you with a list of local B&Bs for the remainder of guests, all within 5 minutes drive from Glewstone.
THE DETAILS
Wedding Cake – Please ensure your cake maker delivers on the morning of the wedding. We have a 12” round antique silver cake stand with a silver knife available on a complimentary basis.
Linen – All of our linen is white but we are happy to hire in a different colour for you at an additional cost. IF you have your wedding ceremony with us you may wish to use the chiavari limewash chairs for your wedding breakfast as well. Alternatively the restaurant chairs can be covered with a sash to match your colour scheme, this can be arranged in house at £1.50 per chair.
Table plan & Place Cards – Our antique gold easel is ideal for holding table plans up to A1 size and can be portrait or landscape. We ask for a complete plan of the room and each table so we know where each guest is to be seated. We are happy to print place cards with menu choices if this is something you would like us to do. Otherwise all wedding place cards should be delivered to the hotel two days prior to your day along with the table plan.
Children – Children aged 12 years and under may eat a smaller portion of the adult menu, which is charged at 2/3rds of the price per head or a meal from the children’s menu. We have three highchairs available.
