With a total capacity of 70 people inside, up to 130 people seated for dinneron the Piazza, and 150 people for a standing drinks reception on the Piazza,the Pump House Gallery is ideal for those intimate occasions and specialmoments.

The building is divided between four floors including the gallery space, withadditional space outside on the piazza.

All rooms boast beautiful views of Battersea Park and Battersea Park Lake.

At Pump House Gallery you are not tied to any preferred suppliers, you canuse whomever you chose. We also do not charge for corkage.

We can, of course, make suggestions for suppliers.

Costs and Suppliers


The catering cabin and the Piazza are powered by the sameelectricity supply, which is sadly not a large supply.

The total supply shared by the Piazza and the Catering shed is 32ampsingle phase.

We ask that you bear this in mind when speaking to your suppliers.

We can typically run an extension from the building to the Piazza topower a sound system for a DJ or band.

Marquee & Furniture Costs


What does my booking include?We are a dry hire venue and provide noevent, hospitality or catering servicesourselves. Your booking includes: sole use of theGallery for the length of your booking,24 white ceremony chairs, a couple oftrestle tables and chairs (please call todiscuss requirements), two Pump HouseGallery attendants.Bookings are charged by the hour andmust include your set up time and packaway time. If your booking overrunssadly we must charge for the extra hour.

How late can our event go on until?Bookings must finish at 1am. Thisincludes pack away time, so everythingmust be tidied away before 1am.Bookings finishing after the park closesto the public at 11pm are subject to anadditional charge from the EventsPolice. They are required to resecure thepark after guests and suppliers havedeparted.

What is the gallery’s guest capacity?The venue’s guest capacity is 70 peoplefor drinks and canapés within thebuilding, extending to 130 for a seateddinner on the Piazza, and 150 people fora drinks reception on the Piazza.

How do we arrange a Registrar?Contact Wandsworth Registry Office on020 8871 6208 to ensure they have aRegistrar free for your preferred dateand time and to book. Please note thatthe Registrar’s fee is not included in ourcosts.

Do we need to use specific caterersand suppliers?No, although we can recommend someto you who have work at Pump HouseGallery before. They will need to liaisewith us though about delivery, logistics,use of the catering cabins etc.

Is there a corkage fee?No, and unlike many venues you mayprovide your own drinks.

Can I make a provisional booking?Please call or email us to discuss thedates we have available.How much is the deposit?We require 100% of your hire fee to bepaid in advance of your event.

Do we require event insurance?Yes. We can recommend an eventinsurer.

Frequently Asked Questions


When should a marquee be placed on site?The marquee must be completed by10:30am on the morning of your event,and deconstructed by 10:30am thefollowing morning. Marquee set up timeis not charged.The marquee placement must leave agangway for access to the Gallery duringthe day.

Where can we park vehicles?Chelsea Car Park, which is Pay andDisplay and free after 5pm. EnterBattersea Park at Chelsea Gate and thecar park is along on your right.The bridal car is permitted to park infront of the gallery.

Which vehicles are permitted to driveto the gallery doors?Delivery, supplier, and wedding partyvehicles are permitted to “drop off” atthe Piazza. We can also allow elderly ordisabled guests to be dropped off at thePiazza.

Can we throw confetti?We prefer you only throw confetti insidethe building. You may be liable for cleanup fees if confetti is thrown on thePiazza.

Can we have candles?Naked flames are not permitted insidethe building.

Is the Pump House Gallery fullyaccessible?The ground floor is level and has adisabled toilet. As the Pump House is anhistoric building access to further roomsis via stairs.

Is the gallery inside the congestionzone?No, we are just south of it. Thecongestion zone begins on the northside of Chelsea Bridge.
