HANGING OF THE GREENS ‘Tis the Season for decorating for Christmas! This year, we have assigned each adult Sunday School Class and Ministry Group one section of the building to decorate for the Christmas Season. Check below for each class schedule: * Sunday School class of Kelly Williams and Elisabeth Haskins: Saturday, November 16, 2:00-4:00pm We are having a pizza party while decorating. Bring desserts or chips. * Sunday School class of Tom and Laura Cooke: Saturday, November 16, 2:00- 4:30pm. We are going to Chicago Dough following decorating. * Sunday School Class of Roxanne Forgrave: Saturday, Nov. 16, 3:30 – 5:00 pm. We’ll be heading to Wil and Carol Watson’s for class party. Bring finger foods. * Sunday School class of Matt and Sarah DeYoung: Sunday, November 17, 3 – 5:30pm. A FREE class sponsored by VETS, LLC, a private company that help veterans to analyze their financial picture and offers each family an individual plan to align their income, expenses, and assets with VA acceptable standards. Class taught by Kenda Pardy. From Joan Rushing... Thank you so much for your prayers and sending me flowers during my recovery from a broken ankle. Even though so much has occurred in my life the past few weeks, I am still so blessed what God has done. It’s so rewarding to depend on my church family. Sympathy Ken Johnson passed away November 2. Funeral service was November 8 in Bourbonnais. Ken was the Chairman of the Engineering Department at ONU. Casey Kohlmeier, police officer, was killed while on duty last week. He was the brother of Zachary Kohlmeier, Adjunct at the ONU Department of Music and K3 Band Member. Dr. C. William Ellwanger, 91, died Thursday, October 31. He was a pastor, evangelist, professor, and a great speaker. A celebration of his life was held November 4 in Bourbonnais. Your prayers and thoughts for these families would be very much appreciated. Each student is to bring their own sack lunch and drink; $5; a flat pack of stickers and your “Servant” Journal (if you have one). We will be making Get-Well cards for the children who come to Mercy Ship for health care, and writing letters to Natalie Bullock, a nurse from our church who is serving on the ship this year. Sunday, December 8th. Christmas Dinner at Pastor Brenda’s house; bring $10 to shop for a needy family. Parents of Kindergarteners TODAY, Kindergarteners will have a new SS classroom: “Gate – B3” Children will be making a “Bag” that will hang in the hallway, with their name on it. This bag is where all Sunday school papers; toys from home; air bows, cars, etc will be kept during worship hour. When you pick your child up, please empty that bag and take the contents home with you. Next Jr. High Club @mosphere Friday, November 15, at the church, from 6:30-9:00 pm. Bring a snack to share. No Life Groups 2nd Annual Turkey Bowl & Tailgate Saturday, November 23, from 11:00am to 4:30pm at Cornerstone Church in Bourbonnais. The Turkey Bowl & Tailgate is a community flag football tournament and tailgate for grades 7-12. This is a remarkable time of community as we'll compete with other area youth ministries and enjoy some delicious tailgate food together along the way. Please sign up by Wednesday, November 13th. Senior High Winter Day in Chicago. Saturday, December 7, we’ll meet at the church at 9:30am and return at 7:15pm. Cost is $10. Students will also be responsible for the cost of their lunch downtown. Please sign up by Sunday, December 1st. Sundays, 9:00 am “Parenting: The most Important Role of Your Life!” How your parenting style impacts your child. Classes are in Spanish, taught by Pastor Willy. Room 301. A Special Night of Prayer for a spiritual breakthrough in our own hearts, our church, our community and our nation. Prayer Group Saturday, November 16, 8:30am at Koch’s home. We collected over 300 coats and 50 blankets for the greater Kankakee area. Area resource centers have been blessed with our gifts and efforts.
