三． Some useful phrases

1.Hi,Jim!So you’re back. 你好，吉姆。你真的回来了。

so 为副词，意思是：“的确，确实。”　 e.g. I did so tell him the truth.

2.Our teacher told us that you were going on a trip.

go on a trip=have a trip 进行一次旅行， on a trip

意思是“在旅行”。去某地旅行用介词 to .

e.g. His family are going on a trip to Qingdao

tomorrow.

3. What a pity. 真可惜！　 It’s a pity that you can’t come. …… 是遗憾的。

4.We had a football match yesterday afternoon. have a match with… 与……进行比赛 e.g. Our class will have a football match with Cla

ss 2 next week.5.I’m sorry I missed it. miss vt. 未赶上，错过，思念，想念　 e.g. I’m sorry I’m late, I missed the school bus. I’ll miss you when you are away.6.I’ve never seen such a beautiful mountain in my life. such 如此，那么．常用来加强语气．与名词或　形容词加名词连用．

such…that… 如此……以至于…… e.g.

I have never seen such a man.

It’s such bad weather today.

He is such a kind man that we all love him.

so 也有相同的用法 , 但 so 后跟形容词和副词，不跟名词．

　 He is so kind.

He ran so quickly that I couldn’t catch up with him.

另外， so 可以和 little few many much 连用，而

　 such 不能．

7.Did you take any photos? take photos=take a photo=take a picture 照相8.I’ll show them to you as soon as they come out. show sth. to sb.=show sb. Sth. 给某人看某物 as soon as 一……就…… 引导时间状语从句．　 come out ( 照片 ) 被冲洗出来　出来　 ( 花 ) 开

放9.There goes the bell. 铃响了． There goes the bell=The bell is ringing=That’s the bell.10.Hurry up! Or we’ll be late. Or 连词 , 否则，要不 可以改写成： If we don’t hurry up, we’ll be late.
