Why a Community College?
• A community college, also known as a two-year or junior college, offers the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. Community colleges also offer career-technical programs, certificate programs, and non-credit community programming.
• Many students choose to complete an associate degree at a community college and then “transfer” to a four-year university/college. Other students complete certificates that prepare them for immediate employment upon graduation.

Easy Application Process
• Complete an application for admission – www.elgin.edu/f1apply
• Pay processing fee ($50.00 USD)
• Submit evidence of financial support showing $21,000 USD available for funding your study in the U.S.
• Complete an Affidavit of Sponsorship
• Evidence of a minimum of 11 years of education or high school graduate
• Copy of passport pages
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age

Summer Cultural Immersion Program
• In addition to full-time degrees and certificates, ECC also offers a 3-week Summer Cultural Immersion Program
• July 5 – July 25
• Intensive English Program classes in the morning, cultural activities in the afternoon
• Fridays – Culture Day
• Participate in Homestay Program and live with an American family to further their cultural immersion
