Students are unable to call home for homework, instruments, lunches, projects, etc.

About 60 minutes of homework per night on average
Math HW nightly
Read 20 minutes every night
1 Reading Response per week (RRJ)
Social Studies and Science HW 1-2 nights per week
Missed HW-students sign log. Can miss 2 HWs and still get a Proficient (P).
RELAReading and Language Arts
Read independently every day
25 Book challenge
Read at least one novel per marking period as a class or in literature circles.
Writing is mainly non-fiction/research based (preparation for EPA)

Follow guidelines set-forth by 7th grade teachers
Students are placed based on current performance, not potential
General guideline example for 7th Grade Honors Recommendation for Math: student has 94% average or above all marking periods, strong work ethic, highly motivated, responsible, excellent problem solver, organized, independent worker, requires minimal assistance after a concept is taught
