Vaccinates against rabies, treats and feeds

1 homeless puppy.

Rescues an animalin distress and getsit treated at a clinic.

Sterilises, vaccinates and treats 1 dog for

worms and parasites.

Runs Bali’s only 24/7 animal ambulance

for 1 day.

Funds daily education in schoolsand communities for

1 month.

Runs 1 education seminar, for

vets and studentsfor example.

Pays for our on-call 24/7 vets & vet nurses

for 1 month.

Pays for 200 dogs to be sterilised to

support humane population control.

2. Be Cool: Stage Your Own Event

When & WhereFind a suitable location that is free or donated and set a date. Give yourself enough lead time to plan, promote, implement … and enjoy. BAWA is unable to help you with costs, but we have lots of fundraising materials for you.

Theme itInject some excitement into your event. Get a band. Give people a chance to dress up or hide behind a stunning mask. Send them on a Treasure Hunt. Play games. Test their knowledge. Try to get some great prizes donated.

Get Organised1/. Decide all the ways your event can raise money –

admission, donations, auction, sponsors, penalty fines.

2/. Make a timeline of all the things you need to do and when. It’s so rewarding to tick them off!

PromoteInvite everyone. Facebook it and Tweet. Create some posters. Ask local radio and press to give you a plug. Write your own press release.

Keep BAWA in the LoopWe will help where we can with materials, publicity & advice.

Take a BowYou’ve done a great job, you’ve had fun, you’ve gained valuable experience at event management and promotion … and you have supported BAWA’s work to save and protect Bali’s precious animals. Congratulations. We need more people like you.

An event to support Bali’s animals and BAWA will raise awareness of our work and bring in much-needed funds. It’s not that hard to run an event. It’s fun and events are cool. Here’s our easy guide:

3. A Word of Advice

It’s best to play it safe in order to avoid any unnecessary hiccups. Here are some steps to take before you start fundraising for BAWA. If you have any questions, please contact BAWA at info@bawabali.com. Let BAWA know about your activity so we can help with materials and publicity.

• Tell people why you are supporting BAWA and what you hope to raise. • Ensure your fundraising activity is legal and you have any required permits. • Make sure you have gained support and permissions from people involved. • Ensure your activity is safe and you are suitably insured. BAWA cannot take

liability for your activity. • Ensure you have a safe place to keep money raised.

• Keep animal welfare in mind when planning your activity. • Confirm any publicity/use of logo with BAWA first. • Remember to say that you are supporting BAWA and are a fundraising

volunteer.• Try to avoid door to door collections.
