The families are presented the Christmas story and the good news of Jesus Christ, and have a chance to choose toy(s) for their children. Our collection effort will run through Sunday, November 20 th . We have a big truck to fill so there is a large storage bin in the narthex to place your gifts in. So, if you see toys on clearance, an item that would be perfect for one of the teens, or you see a great clearance item for mom or dad, go on and pick it up! Take advantage of those “buy any item get one free” coupons from Harbor Freight. These are great for Dad! If you would prefer to give a monetary gift to purchase food for distribution, please place your gift in the offering plate marked clearly for GAP FOOD. As always, all contributions are greatly appreciated. If you are completing your own shoeboxes please have them to the church by next Sunday, November 13 th . You can still make a donation for postage. Postage is $7.00 per box. Contact Dot Miller: 918-6254/email: [email protected] We want to take a moment to thank you for all the wonderful gifts, cards, calls, and every other way you have blessed us this month. We pray that God will bless you as much as youve blessed us. We thank Him for your gifts, shared from a heart of love. God’s Plan for Your Life Are you certain you have eternal life and will go to Heaven when you die? What would you say if you were standing before God right now and He asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven?” God’s Purpose: God loves us and has a purpose for our lives. The Bible says it this way: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16) Our Need: As we search for meaning in life, we discover that our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) God’s Provision: God is holy and just and must punish sin. Yet He loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) Our Response: The only way Jesus can affect our lives is for us to receive Him. We must surrender to Jesus as Lord. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10) My Commitment: “Dear Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and died to forgive me of my sins. I know I have sinned. I ask You to forgive me. I turn from my sins, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. I want to live for You the rest of my life. Amen.”
