Oak Green School is set in extensive primary school grounds in Buckinghamshire, with

space for our children to enjoy sports, recreation and outdoor learning. The school has

a football pitch and two netball courts with the added provision of a grass athletics track in

the summer term. We have a fantastic outdoor learning zone, where children have the

opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables from seed in our courtyard garden and raised bed

area, all adjacent to a lovely landscaped pond area. In addition, the children experience

growing wild flowers and experience outdoor life through our Forest Schools adventure.

The main entrance to the school provides an instant welcome and sense of great space.

Our spacious buildings include large, bright classrooms that are well equipped for children

to learn productively and happily. Technology is embedded throughout the school, with

laptops, tablets and ipad’s available to all pupils.

Attached to the main building is a delightful suite of interlocking Early Years classrooms

where everything is designed to enable our younger pupils to thrive and develop

early-learning skills and attitudes. Their rooms overlook enclosed outdoor spaces where

children can explore hands-on play based learning.

The Key Stage One and Two classrooms are equally well equipped. Key Stage One

classrooms also benefit from secure outdoor learning environments.

Oak Green specialise in nurturing and teaching children with Autistic Spectrum disorders (ASD). We have an ARP (Additional Resource Provision) for pupils with EHCPs indicating ASD, as their primary need. Pupils are placed in this specialist provision by the Local Authority. Special Support is available within the ARP. Children admitted into this ARP also access the main school. “Since my child has been in this school and the ARP he has made great progress, due to the care and dedication of the staff” Parent questionnaire 2019

We have a large hall with staging area where our theatre group host annual productions as

well as class assemblies, Christmas productions and Year 6 Leavers’ Graduation

ceremonies.

Both Key Stage One and Two playgrounds have story-telling

areas, quiet areas and a playtime games area. We also provide

wrap-around care with a high quality, activity based breakfast club

(Sunrise Club) and afterschool care service (Sunset Club) every

weekday during term time.

Oak Green School is situated on Oak Green in the large, ancient market town of

Aylesbury.

Buckinghamshire has a selective education system, and children are selected for

Grammar school places via the 11+ test taken at the beginning of year 6.

Aylesbury is set to become a Garden Town which will see the town’s housing grow by

over 16,000 new homes in the future.

We have excellent road, rail and bus links to Milton Keynes, High Wycombe and

Oxford. The town is served by Aylesbury Railway Station and Aylesbury Vale Parkway

Station and is a passenger service for the London to Aylesbury line from London

Marylebone.

There are many places to visit within the local area including

the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery, within Bucks County

Museum and Waddesdon Manor a renaissance style chateau

operated by the National Trust which is home to the

Rothschild collections of paintings and sculptures.

Alongside the old and traditional, Aylesbury offers modern

shopping centres and has a fantastic selection of places to

eat . The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre can be found in the

centre of the town and shows a programme of live

performances including popular West End Productions.
