Did you know there is lots of important security information and links on the NHW web page of the Orston Parish website? Please have a look!
Latest Crime Figures (3 months to 30th April)
Although local crime levels are relatively low, Bingham, Radcliffe and surrounding villages have experienced a noticeable increase in car theft. This includes a number of house burglaries where car keys have been targeted and premium vehicles stolen from driveways.
One of the key messages from the police is to protect your car keys. If keys are in sight, or near doors or windows, it only takes minutes to grab these and drive off.
Thefts from vehicles, including cash and tools from vans, is also a concern. Four vans were broken into overnight in Bingham and a Ford Transit has been stolen. Owners should be extra vigilant to ensure they are not targeted and lose valuable tools and equipment. The peak times for these thefts is overnight. If tools cannot be removed overnight then common-sense security precautions should be taken such as parking close to a building or hedge to restrict access and fitting good quality locks and alarm.
PLEASE NOTE It’s very important to report crimes as otherwise rural communities may not be given the required level of resourcing they deserve.
