Surestart Edenballymore is for all local families who live in Creggan, Bogside, Brandywell, Bishop Street, Strand and the Fountain neighbourhoods who are expecting a baby or have a child under 4 years. Applying for Pre-schoolIf your child is born on or between 2nd July 2015 and 1st July 2016 you will be eligible to apply for admission to either a Nursery School or Nursery Unit or Playgroup for the school year 2019-2020.

The way in which parents apply for Pre-School places is changing. Online applications are being introduced for admission to Pre-School in the 2019/2020 school year. Information on the new application procedure will be available on the Education Authority website from the 14th December 2019. Applications open online on 2nd January 2019. Closing date for applications is 31st January 2019 @ 12 midnight. If you need any help completing your application, please contact the office and we will be happy to help.

Programme for Two-Year-Old Application ProcessIf your child was born between 2nd July 2016 and 1st July 2017 you are eligible to apply for a place on our Two-Year-Old Programme. You will receive an invitation to one of our open sessions where you can apply for a place and find out more information about the programme. Invitations will be sent out to all eligible registered children at the end of January. Open sessions will take place week beginning 18th February 2019.

The most at risk group from a home accident are the 0-4 years age group. Most accidents are preventable through increased awareness and improvements in the home environ-ment. Check each of the rooms in your home using the SureStart Eden-ballymore home safety guide, which you can get at our office.

Protect your children from the harmful effects of second hand smoke by making your home and car smoke free. Sign our smoke free home pledge and you will receive a ‘smoke free home’ goodie bag.
