Welcome back! I hope you all had a thoroughly
enjoyable and restful holiday in preparation for
another wonderful school year here at
Cambewarra Public School.
I was most impressed to see how many students
listened last year and ensured they had beautiful
black school shoes on. In full uniform you look like
a team, united, which is what we are here at
Cambe. Already this year is shaping up to be
exciting and successful, and I’m pleased to see we
have wasted no time in getting on with the very
important tasks of learning and growing.
Thank you to all our staff and students for a
seamless transition into new classes, and for
making our new staff and students feel welcome.
Bring on 2014!

Class Structures
This year we had only some minor changes to
student numbers and so were able to place
students into their new classes on the second
day. Our current enrolment is 323 students.
Kinders Report
A big welcome to our newest and cutest
students, our Kindergarteners! This year
we have 43 Kindys in two classes, with
teachers Miss Gardner and Mrs
Wellington. Though there were a few
tears on their first day, our Kinders were
mostly happy and excited to be at ‘big
school’. We hope you have lots of fun
learning, playing and growing here in your
first year of school.
Here’s what our Kinders had to say about
their first few days of school:
‘I really like it, it’s fun. I like lunchtime’
-Megan
‘It’s really fun, I like counting the elephants in
our room and playing with my friends’
-Biaan
‘I like playing with the cars, and colouring in
and reading’
-Arbi
‘I like Miss Gardner and Mrs Wellington and
playing in the circus tent. I love colouring in.’
-Aiden

Swimming Carnival Report
On Friday students from Year 2
to Year 6 attended our annual
swimming carnival, held at the
Bomaderry Aquatics Centre. At
35oC, we couldn’t have asked for
better weather. The students are
to be congratulated in being very
responsible in slipping, slopping
and slapping. It was great to see
so many students give it a go, no
matter their ability.
Congratulations to those
students who excelled and are
now off to the district
competition. Thanks to all the
parents and staff who helped out
on the day with timekeeping,
judging and marshalling. Overall
it was a very enjoyable and
successful, and in such hot
weather everyone really enjoyed
the free swim… especially the
teachers!
School Fees/ Voluntary Contributions
At Cambewarra Public School we strive to provide the
best education for your children. Whilst we have
fantastic teachers, we do not receive adequate funding
for vital teaching resources.
Each year we therefore ask our families to pay school
fees, to assist us with our running costs and to assure
that your children receive the quality education they
deserve. It would be greatly appreciated if all families
could pay as soon as is possible. Your generosity is
much appreciated by all staff and students here at
Cambewarra PS.
This year the school fees are $45 per student per year.
Invoices will be sent home soon.
