White Clouds Golf Course

Elkhorn Golf Club

The Elkhorn Golf Club course provides the perfect blend of bark and benevolence with a front nine renowned for its hills and a back nine for water hazards. A 16,000 sq. ft. clubhouse boasts a cozy restaurant, bar and patio. 18 Holes, 7,214 yards, Par 72

18-Hole Sawtooth Putting Course

The 18-hole Sawtooth Putting Course offers 55,249 square feet of fun for the entire family. Whether you play the game or not, the Sawtooth Putting Course is sure to offer a challenge and some great fun.

Complementing your golf game is a magnificent clubhouse featuring a beautiful restaurant and bar, outdoor terrace seating, a pro shop, locker facilities and year-round indoor virtual golf.

Of course Sun Valley wouldn’t be Sun Valley without a little bit of the cold stuff. Cool off and test your skating skills on the outdoor ice rink, and don’t miss our Saturday night ice shows—because nothing brightens up a summer night like the sight of skaters gliding across the ice.

Ice Shows

The Sun Valley On Ice Shows under the stars feature Olympic and world-class figure skaters and are a Saturday night must-do for many. You can enjoy the dinner buffet on the outdoor Lodge Terrace or get a close-up view in the bleacher seating. Shows start at dusk, and tickets can be purchased online at seats.sunvalley.com or at the Sun Valley Recreation Center Box Office.

Ice Skating

You never know who you’ll see in Sun Valley—Olympic legends, celebrities and regular folks share the ice. There’s a full-service pro shop for whatever you need and a full range of private and group lessons.

Sun Valley Summer Skating School

World-class instructors come to Sun Valley to train promising young athletes at this two-month-long summer school. Advance application required.

You’ll definitely find plenty of places to commune with nature in Sun Valley, but when you feel the need to socialize and take in a show, you’ll find plenty of options for that, too. The Sun Valley Pavilion features a month-long visit by the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, the largest privately funded free-admission symphony in America. A lineup of concerts, from country to pop to opera, fill the Pavilion with music all summer. And you can also take in a movie at the Opera House or listen to jazz late into the night at the Duchin Lounge. Another unique experience here is the 4-day Sun Valley Writers’ Conference.

Sun Valley is one of the best biking and hiking destinations in the West, with a full range of options to please the peaceful explorer and the hardcore adventurer. You’ll find miles of paved biking trails and even more miles of single track, downhill trails and bike parks. Choose from many different rental bikes—from cruisers to mountain bikes—at Pete Lane’s Mountain Sports and find all your riding needs, including expert bike mechanics to assist you. Pedal or hike up the 3,000-foot vertical climb at Bald Mountain, or take your bike up on the Roundhouse Gondola or Christmas High Speed Quad for a bird’s-eye view and a ride down.

There are nearly 28 miles of trails on Bald Mountain, but if you prefer a shorter excursion, walk across the street from the Lodge entrance to the White Clouds trails for up to five miles of hiking or biking in the lower foothills around the White Clouds Golf Course. Discover the restorative powers of Idaho water.

Yes, the steelhead do indeed make the 1,000-mile trek from the Pacific, as do the sockeye salmon, to nearby Redfish Lake. And these are just two of the reasons fishermen arrive from even greater distances. Others visit to fly-fish for rainbow in waters that have remained unchanged for a hundred years— at legendary spots like Silver Creek, the Big Wood River and Copper Basin. But whatever adventurers are seeking, they always leave with a renewed appreciation for all that Idaho has to offer.

Sun Valley Tennis

Tennis under the sun or in the shadow of Bald Mountain—there’s nothing better. This is the home of the Nike Tennis Clinic for kids and adults, and you’ll find plenty of friendly tournament competition, too. Along with a full pro shop, 17 courts, ball machines, instruction for beginners to advanced players and a large staff of excellent instructors.

Horseback Riding

Take an easy walk from the Sun Valley Village and step back in time to the Sun Valley Stables where a cowboy will help you pick out a horse for a ride around Dollar Mountain. Group hay-wagon rides are also available.

Sun Valley Gun Club

Everyone from beginners to sharpshooters will be challenged with all that the Gun Club has to offer, including Trap, Double Trap, Wobble Trap, Skeet, Duck Tower, 5-Stand and Sporting Clays.

Sun Valley Lake

You can’t beat the fun and exercise at the coolest place in the valley. Rent a paddleboat and get out on the water.

Our child-care activities vary daily, but they might include swimming, putting on the Sawtooth course, hikes, rides on the gondola, ice skating, field games, crafts, bowling or paddle boating—almost all of the recreation choices Sun Valley has to offer.

Playschool Summer Day Camp

The Playschool runs all summer long with child appropriate activities and a playground for kids ages 5 and under. Conveniently located in the Sun Valley Village near the Post Office.

Young Summer Day Camp

A unique summer opportunity for children ages 6 and older to meet new friends and experience all that Sun Valley has to offer. Located in the Sun Valley Village directly behind the Brass Ranch.
