Class fees are paid at the time of regis-tration.

Unless otherwise stated, all supplies and materials are included in the class fee.

Fees are non‐refundable on or after the first day of class.

Refunds requested one day to one week before the first day of class will be given in the form of coupons for future classes.

All refunds will incur a 6% registration processing fee.

Class fees will not be pro‐rated.

Classes cannot be made up.

REACH will issue a full refund if a class is cancelled.

Unless otherwise noted, siblings regis-tering at the same time for the same session receive a 10% discount on youth classes.

Classes may need to be cancelled if sufficient enrollment has not been met.

In an effort to make our programs as accessible as possible to everyone, we have implemented a sliding scale fee for all of our school-year youth and teen classes.

Refer to the table below as a guide for which fee level to choose. If you are able to pay the Level A fees, it helps us to keep offering classes. Level B fees are “on your honor.” Level C fee registrations require a parent or guardian to provide proof of income before or on the first day of class—please email a copy of or bring in person your EBT (bridge) card, or most recent federal income tax form.

Please contact us if these fee guidelines still make it difficult for you to take our classes.

Scout, homeschooling, and other youth group work-shops are available with REACH! Projects and materials are chosen by our staff and planned around your desired art medium and/or area of interest. Discounts are available for multiple sessions in a series.

Before-school art program for Lansing School District students. This program is free for all Lansing School District students but pre-registration is required.

The fall semester of the program begins on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, register today!

Join us for an exciting semester of art making, creativity and FUN at REACH on Wednesday mornings before school.

This semester-long art program will engage Kth-6th graders from Lansing School District in a variety of art experiences including visual arts, performing arts and more. Students will be divided into two groups by age range. The program is designed to provide structured sequential arts learning during Late Start Wednesday mornings for Lansing School District students.

Transportation: Students must be checked in at REACH by parent/guardian. At the end of class district buses will transport students from REACH to the following schools: Dwight Rich, Gardner, Lewton, Pattengill, Post Oak, & Wexford.

Students who enroll in the first semester are welcome and encouraged to also enroll in the second semester where they will benefit from further exploration of the arts.

No class on 11/27, 12/25, 1/1, 1/22, 4/8, & 4/15

CREATURES & KINGDOMS Jump into the fantasy world of art-making! Create characters ranging from unicorns to drag-ons and the structures in which they dwell, from mountains to castles. Your work will be dis-played together for a miniature “fantasy city” art show in December.

IMAGINARY WORLDS Design your own planet including landscapes, aliens and their habitats. Create a contained “Out of this World,” box display showcasing the limitless potential of space. The galaxy of work will be displayed at our March Open House art show.

OF THIS EARTH Explore a variety of earth materials that can be utilized for art-making, from sand paintings to fiber collage and twig sculptures. ART BASICS: PRINTMAKING Teaching Artist: Meghan Andrews In this class you will explore and practice beginning and advanced printmaking techniques which may include relief, reduction, monoprinting, and transfer methods. You will learn to design and create original prints, and learn to use basic carving tools for your relief prints. You will bring home several final prints as well as some that are beautifully layered with color and pattern! No experience necessary.

DRAWING FOUNDATIONS | Teaching Artist: Chris Russell In this class you will learning the basics of drawing composition and technique. Using media such as graph-ite, ink, and charcoal, you will explore the elements of drawing. Subjects covered will include the fundamen-tals of line, form, and value, still life, figure drawing, self-portraiture, and landscape. Lessons will also incor-porate concepts such as compositional balance and other principles of design, use of negative space, con-tour, and color theory.

PHOTOSHOP & ILLUSTRATOR BASICS | Teaching Artist: Chris Russell This program teaches the fundamental tools and functions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and how to apply them to edit, manipulate and create digital images. You will explore concepts like graphic design, pho-to editing, digital collage, photobashing, and digital drawing and image creation, as well as the ethical use of images and copyrighted materials.

RELIEF/LINOCUT PRINTMAKING + SPREADING IDEAS: DEMOCRACY, ACTIVISM, YOUR VOICE | Teaching Artist: Lena Ellis-Boatman Learn to do the oldest, coolest, and most-DIY form of printmaking! Carve your words and images into linole-um and learn to print multiples of your designs by hand and using a real printmaking press. Sizes? Colors? Collaboration? Experiment!

GUITAR BASICS | Teaching Artist: Chris Russell This class is designed to help anyone, whether you're completely new to music, or a prodigy in the making, learn the fundamentals of guitar playing. Here you will learn basic concepts such as strumming, picking, chords and scales, all presented through the lens of the popular music of today and yesterday. So you'll be learning some of your favorite songs as you're learning to play!

LOW-TECH SCREENPRINTING: ART, CRAFT, BUSINESS Teaching Artist: Lena Ellis-Boatman Learn simple screenprinting techniques you can replicate at home. PRINTMAKING: IDEAS, INK & PERSPIRATION Teaching Artist: Lena Ellis-Boatman For folks who like a challenge or those with some prior experience. Relief/linocut, intaglio/collagraph, monoprint/monotype, and maybe even some simple screenprinting. Instruction and guidance provided, individual projects encouraged! LIFE DRAWING | Teaching Artist: elyse GAMBINO This 8-week class is your opportunity to learn how to draw the human figure under the guidance of an expert instructor. You will study and work from live models both clothed and nude using charcoal, pencil, and ink.

Open Clay Studio Membership

Open Clay Studio members have access to REACH's clay studio, equipment, tools, and regular kiln firings for work independent of an instructor. Members make their own schedule based on our open hours. Clay must be purchased from REACH (not included in price of membership) as we do not allow outside clay to be brought in. Members must be experienced ceramicists with demonstrated skill and advanced understanding of working with clay, clay equipment, and glazes. All members attend an Open Clay Studio orientation with the Clay Studio Manager.

Fiber Studio Membership

Modeled after our Open Clay Studio, we are thrilled to activate and make available REACH’s beautiful Fiber Arts Studio space.
