This is a great opportunity to pick up plants (vegetables, herbs and flowers) for your garden.

Turn your extra plants into museum passes, new books and many other beneficial programs for the Weeks Public Library. The Annual Plant and Bake Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library could use your help! Donations may be left at the back door of the Library anytime beginning Friday, May 8.

Crews will be arranging plants in donated pots to sell at the sale. Other garden items will also be sold during this fundraiser to support Library programs and ser-vices. Items may be dropped off at the Library beginning Friday, May 8.

The Friends are asking everyone to drop off all used printer ink cartridges at the li-brary. The collection box is in the front hallway. Drop them off there, and help the Friends support the Weeks Public Library with this ink cartridge recycling program. Adults are invited to read to earn tickets for prizes. The grand prize will be a $50 gift certificate pro-vided by the Friends. The adult summer reading program begins Memorial Day weekend and by popular demand it has been extended through Labor Day weekend. So come in, pick up a few good books and start reading! You must have a Weeks Public Library card to participate.

more will be offered on the third Saturday in July beginning at 10:00 AM. The day will end with runners

taking off in the 19th annual Jason Hussey 5K Road Race at 6:00 P.M and a BBQ to benefit the Envi-

ronmental School. All community groups and nonprofit agencies are invited to offer activities, informa-

tion about their organization or host fund-

raisers for their cause. Interested groups

The Teen Advisory Board is collecting items for our troops:

Toiletry items, 8 oz. or travel size (no aerosols): chap sticks, sanitary items, deodorant, hand wipes, Tylenol, aspirin, shave gel, cotton balls, cotton mid-calf white socks, flip-flops, air fresheners, foot powder, hand warmers, inner soles, Q-tips, eye drops, bug spray (no aerosols). Food Items, individually packed to share: cookies, nuts, dried fruit, hard candy, pop tarts, granola bars, coffee 1 lb. size, drink mixes to add to water, gum, mints, microwave popcorn, trail mix, etc. Fun Stuff: Frisbees, volley balls, small games, UNO, dice, cards, etc. Items not to bring in: Adult magazines, books, and pork products. If you are interested in helping the teens support the troops, please drop off any of the above items here at the library throughout the month of May. The items will be given to the Pease Greeters for dis-tribution. Thanks!
