Una nota del Párroco

Note From the Pastor

Dear friends, The power to forgive is the first gift the Risen Lord gives the disciples ... after he wishes them peace. "If you forgive sins, they are forgiven. If you retain them, they are retained." It is narrow thinking to suppose this is just about the institution of the sacrament of Penance (confession). The truth is, all Christian who have been given the Holy Spirit are now empowered ... to forgive others from their heart. This is huge! If we forgive others ... what a relief. If we retain the sins of others ... where do you think they are retained? IN US! So ... for heaven's sake come to Cislini Hall at 6:45 PM for food and music, and to catch your breath. Then let the Spirit guide you to a meditation on the importance of forgiving ... and maybe some "how-to's." Peace and All Good! PS The Mission runs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday --- with the last day being a special Mass for reconciliation.

Queridos amigos,

Time and Talent …. Paul and Barnabas encountered both violent rejection and joyful acceptance of the message that they preached. We, too, may meet with mixed reac-tions when we use our gifts in the service of God. But, the Gospel assures us, the re-ward for those who follow faithfully is eternal life.
