________________________________________________________________________________________LOTUS CANDLES The Chinese word for lotus is hehua (荷花).The first character he (荷) has the same pronunciation as the words for "harmony" or "peace"

(he 和).

Chinese believes that the hidden meaning of the lotus is therefore the wish that

everything will come together in harmony.
