1. Ayush Minister Shripad Yesso Naik informed the Rajya Sabha that 2,500 new centres are planned to be opened within

the first four months of the present government.

2. Over 30.6 lakh persons have been enrolled so far under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM)

scheme.The government has launched the PM-SYM a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the benefit of

unorganized workers in February this year in the country.

3. Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the UGC Guide to Student Induction

Programme - Deeksharambh in New Delhi. Objective: to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new

environment.

4. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will participate in the Standalone meeting of BRICS' Foreign Ministers from July

25-26 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

5. Union government is planning to set up India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) at Pottipuram in Theni District, Tamil

Nadu. Objective is to set up a 51000 ton Iron Calorimeter (ICAL) detector.It will be the first neutrino detector in India.

6. Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated the architectural illumination of the historic Safdarjung Tomb in New

Delhi.

7. Coal minister Prahlad Josh informed that government is planning to increase the total production of coal in the

country to one billion tones by 2022-23.

11. Pakistan Punjab’s chief minister laid the foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University at Nanakana Sahib. The

University was dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev at his birth plance. This university would be spread over 10 acres.

1. West Bengal Governor Kesri Nath Tripthi released the Bengali version of the famous book “Great Minds of India”. This

unique book is translated into Bengali by Dr. R N Das.

2. Meghalaya became the first Indian state to draft a water policy to ensure water conservation, issues and protection of

water resources in the State.The approved policy intended to achieve sustainable development by Meghalaya state

government.

3. First-ever Himalayan States Conclave will be hosted by Uttarakhand on July 28, 2019 at Mussoorie.The main Objective

of this conclave is to focus on sustainable development of the Indian Himalayan Region.

4. Tamil Nadu to form two new districts and the total number of districts in the state will be raised to 35.Tenkasi District

would be carved out of Tirunelveli and Chengalpet District would be established by splitting Kanchipuram district.

5. Odisha will get its first desalination plant in Paradip with a capacity of 10 million litres per day.The proposed plant, to

be built at a cost of around Rs 116 crore, is expected to be commissioned by 2021

6. In Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur received the 'Victory Flame' at Mandi.The ‘Victory Flam’ that

illuminated from the National War Memorial, New Delhi on July, 14 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay

Diwas.

7. Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik has launched the new e-challan system and the e-payment gateway for the

use of Delhi Traffic Police.

8. The Maharashtra sports department has sought funds of over Rs one crore for ace shooter Rahi Sarnobat.

9. The country's first garbage cafe has been launched in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh.Persons fetching 1 kg plastic waste will

be offered a full meal while those collecting 500 grams waste will get a substantial breakfast.

10. Haryana government approved the proposal to set up first full-fledged sports university at Sonipat.

11. The Assam Government is to plant sapling spread over one thousand kilometres across the National Highways.

12. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today flagged off the Central Reserve Police Force cycle rally.Five women officers

along with 20 other cyclists will travel a distance of 982 kilometres on cycle from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to

India Gate, New Delhi.

13. In Madhya Pradesh, the first international flight from Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport of Indore left for

Dubai today with 153 passengers.

4. The 8th meeting of India-Uzbekistan Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism was held in New Delhi. The meeting

was co-chaired by Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism), Ministry of External Affairs and Ambassador

Farhod Azriev of Uzbekistan.

1. State Bank of India (SBI) has waived the charges on National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross

Settlement (RTGS) transactions through YONO, Internet, and mobile banking.This will be effective from July 1.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed fine on State Bank of India (SBI) of Rs 7 cr and Union Bank of India of Rs 10

lakh for violating certain regulatory guidelines.

3. Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) introduced a web-based application system for contribution from

the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS).Aimed to improve the turnaround time and increase transparency.SIDBI is the

implementing agency for FFS with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore on behalf of the Government of India.

4. Andhra Bank launched its Artificial Intelligence interactive assistant — ABHi. The Bank's AI powered chatbot-ABHi uses

latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithm to understand the customer query

and fetch the relevant information from possible knowledgebase in a matter of milliseconds.

5. ICICI Bank launched a new digital platform specially for MSMEs and self-employed customers to enable them to

undertake their business banking transactions digitally and instantly named ‘‘InstaBIZ”.

6. Standard Chartered will become first foreign bank to launch operations at International Financial Services Centre

(IFSC) located at the Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City).

7. HDFC Bank and Common Services Centres (CSCs) launched a co-branded ‘Small Business Money-Back Credit Card’. This

Co-branded credit card is for small traders and village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs).

1. HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company and Muthoottu Mini Financiers Ltd announced the tie-up for the distribution

of HDFC ERGO’s range of non-life insurance offerings for the customers of the NBFC through its network branches.

2. Asian Development Bank lowered the GDP growth rate of India from 7.2% to 7% for the current fiscal.

3. Larsen & Toubro Infotech (LTI) has signed an agreement to acquire AI firm Lymbyc Solutions for Rs 38 crore.

4. BSE has inked a pact with Haryana government to encourage and support state's micro, small and medium enterprises

(MSMEs) to raise capital. Objective is to facilitate SMEs in raising funds through BSE's dedicated platform for SME's --

2. The 5th edition of International Police Expo 2019 is inaugurated at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from July 19 to July 20.

1. A/C to Bloomberg Billionaires Index,Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO is the world’s richest person with a total net

worth of $125 million. Bill Gates, Microsoft founder stands at Number 3 with net worth of $107 billion.The richest

Indian, Mukesh Ambani is on the 13th spot, with a net worth of USD 51.8 billion. Azim Premji is the second-richest

Indian to be on the list at the 48th rank with USD 20.5 billion.Shiv Nadar is on the 92nd spot and Uday Kotak is on the

96th spot.

2. According to the data from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd has overtaken rival

Bharti Airtel to become the second largest operator in terms of mobile subscriber base.As of May end, Jio had 322.98

million users as against Airtel’s 320.38 million users.Vodafone Idea continues in the top position with 387.55 million

users.

3. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will launch the Global Innovation Index, GII on 24th July in New Delhi.

AGREEMENTS and MoU signed

1. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has provided a $100-million loan to L&T Infrastructure Finance

Company Limited (LTIF) for wind and solar infrastructure projects in India.

2. World Bank signed a loan of $250 million to the Kerala Government for the Resilient Kerala project.The main objective

is to enhance the state’s resilience against the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.

3. The Department of Telecom (DoT) and the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER)

signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a Broadband Readiness Index (BRI) for Indian States and

Union Territories (UT).The first estimate will be made in 2019 and subsequently every year until 2022.

4. GeM and Steel Authority of IndiaNSE -2.31 % (SAIL), signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) to set up GeM

Organizational Transformation Team.With this MoU, SAIL has become the first public sector undertaking to establish

GOTT PMU for transforming their procurement landscape and increasing their footprint on GeM.

5. Sri Lankan government today signed an agreement with IRCON International for upgrading of a railway track with

Indian concessional financing of around 91.26 million US dollars.

6. Union Health Ministry has signed an MoU with Ministries of Ayush, Defence and Railways to strengthen the efforts

towards a TB-Free India by 2025.

1. Vijayveer Sidhu picked up his third gold medal of the ongoing ISSF Junior World Cup with Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu and

Adarsh Singh to clinch the men's 25m pistol event.The event was held in Suhl, Germany.

2. 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship started today at the Jawaharlal Indoor Stadium in Cuttack,

Odisha.The event was inaugurated by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal.

Indian team secured the first spot in the medal tally of Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship 2019 held at

Samoa. It won 35 medals including 22 golds, 10 silvers and 3 bronze medals in the youth, junior, and senior categories.

3. Indian sprinter Hima Das clinched her fourth gold in a fortnight as she won the 200m race with a creditable timing in

the Tabor Athletics Meet in Czech Republic. She won the race in 23.25 seconds.

4. At the ISSF Junior World Cup, Sarabjot Singh shot a 239.6 to bag the men's 10 metres air pistol gold.This is India's ninth

yellow metal at the event in Suhl, Germany.

5. International cricket chiefs suspended Zimbabwe over a failure to keep the sport free from government

interference.ICC funding has been withdrawn and the country will be barred from participating at ICC events.

6. PT Usha has been nominated for the International Association of Athletics Federation’s (IAAF) ‘Veteran Pin’ for her

outstanding service to the sport.Usha is often called the “queen of track and field”.

7. In the Shooting Junior World Cup, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar clinched gold with a junior world record in the final

of rifle 3-position event in Suhl Germany.India finished the ISSF tournament on top of the table with 10 gold, nine

silver and five bronze for a total of 24 medals.

8. In Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship held in Cuttack , India made a record by winning gold in both men’s and

women’s category.The Indian men won the final match defeating England 3-2. The Indian women team defeated

England 3-0 in final match.

9. Indian Army has successfully carried out summer user trials of third Generation Anti-Tank Guided Missile- NAG at

Pokhran Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.

10. The 2019 Wimbledon Championships was the 133rd edition of Championship.It is played in Grass court.After the

“Australian open” and “French open”, Wimbledon is the 3rd Grand Slam of the year.The tournament took place at the

All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom from 1st July 2019 to 14 July 2019.
