Typeface: Segoe Script
Author: Steve Matteson
Segoe Script was designed during the author’s employment at Agfa Monotype.
Licensed to Microsoft for use as a branding typeface and user interface font, it was
designed to be friendly and legible. Matteson created a range of weights and italics
with a humanist feel.
What attracts me most is that this font is easy to read, while the hand-writing style is
quite elegant and pretty. Since my audience would be fans of classic Hollywood
movies, and may be in their middle-age, they might think of some vintage style for
the front.
My message here is to keep the elegant style and hopefully, to remind them of those
good days that so many talented and gorgeous actresses presented in those good
movies.
In the last two pages, the first one is the submitted one. But I still have some further
ideas of transforming some of the fonts to make it more interesting. I added a little
beret for the letter “e” in the word “The”. Then I “grew” some rose thorn on “Golden
Age”, added a bowknot to “f” and converted circles to heart-shapes for “Hollywood.”
Personally speaking, I really like those ideas; I would love to make it more vivid later.
