SUNDAY JANAURY 26TH Qurbono (Liturgy) 8: 00 & 11:00 AM Liturgy Divine Mercy Chaplet at 10:40 AM DAY OF PRAYER On Wednesday, January 22, the Church in the United States observes the annual "Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children." This day is set aside to pray for the legal protec-tion of human life and to do penance for the vio-lations to human dignity through abortion. We are called to observe this day through prayer and penance. We will have Divine Liturgy at 12:00 Noon, followed by adoration of the Blessed Sac-rament and will conclude with a Holy Hour and Rosary for Life at 7:00 PM. CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES As always at this time of year, your contribution envelopes will be mailed out to you every quar-ter. If you do not receive your envelopes or have changed your address, please contact the church office at 210-690-9569. BRICKS OF LOVE To commemorate an individual or in memory of a loved one, bricks are available to purchase at $500 each or payments can be arranged with Fa-ther Charles. Please see Debbie Fernandez or call the church office. FOYER CANDLES The candles in the foyer are provided by the La-dies Altar Society for your special intentions and prayers. Please make sure your children under-stand that these candles are for devotional use only and not for play. A donation of $2 per can-dle helps to defray the cost of the candles

HAFLI PRICES: $600.00 - Tables of 10 around the dance floor. $500.00 - Tables of 10, Second row. $40.00 - Adult ticket general admission $20.00 - Children 2 - 12 years old general admis-sion. $15.00 - for ½ pound order of Kibbeh Nayeh Mezza included with the meal and the ticket price. Tickets for the hafli will be on sale after all week-end liturgies or at the church office, 1st come 1st serve. Your payment is your reservation. Reservation Deadline is Monday February 11, 2020. SUNDAY REFRESHMENTS & FLOWERS We still need families to sign up to provide re-freshments for the fellowship hour following the 11:00 AM liturgy. A simple array of sweets (donuts, cookies) to compliment the coffee that is provided, is greatly appreciated. Please contact Adriana Khalife at 210-379-4411or the church office to sign up. You may also provide the flow-ers for the weekend liturgies in memory of some-one, in honor of someone, or for a special inten-tion. MEMORIAL LITURGIES If you would like to schedule a memorial liturgy, please complete and return the form that was emailed to you and also available to you in the church foyer. In addition, you may also provide the flowers for the liturgy (in memory of your loved ones, in honor of someone or for a special intention) and/or refreshments for the fellowship. We will acknowledge the names of the people that pro-vide flowers or refreshments in our weekly bulle-tin. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choice of date for your liturgy. Scholarship Program

Information for Scholarship Applicant

Criteria for Application:

A. The family and individual must be active members of St. George Catholic Church for the previous four years.

Active membership is described as: 1. Attending Church regularly and 2. Contributing time and money to the Church through the Stewardship Program.

B. The applying student must be involved in the parish community evidenced by one or

more activities (for example, regular attendance at Sunday Liturgy and/or religious educa-tion; membership in the Maronite Youth Organization; parish community service hours in church activities, etc.)

C. The recipient must be a graduating high school senior or equivalent (GED) recpient

Procedure for Application:

A. The award is only for fully matriculated entering freshmen to an accredited community

college, college or university, and it is to be used for education expenses.

B. Applications must be postmarked or received by April 8 to be considered for the next aca-

demic year.

C. All eligible applicants will receive a scholarship.

D. The amount of scholarship funds to be awarded will be determined annually by the Schol-

arship Committee Governing Board and will be dependent on funds available and the

number of applicants.

E. A certificate of Scholarship Award will be presented to the student in May. The money

made payable by check to the student will be awarded when the student enrolls in the in-

stitution and submits verification by sending copies:

a. off class schedule, and

b. Tuition and fee statement

Remembering a deceased family member with a memorial Divine Liturgy is a prayerful and loving remem-brance of our loved ones. If you wish you may also provide the flowers for the liturgy and refreshments for the fellowship following the liturgy (in memory of your loved ones, in honor of someone, for a special inten-tion).
