Principal’s Message

Book Week and Grandparents Day

What a great day! Thank you to Mrs Scott for organising the Treasure Hunt and Book Character Parade last Tuesday, even after a massive down pour everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks to Jo Mazzitello and her team for the wonderful BBQ lunch which everyone enjoyed. After lunch we were then treated to a special concert from our K-2 students to celebrate Grandparents Day. It is fantastic to see to see so many attend these days as they become treasured memories for our whole school community.

Enrolments We have begun to plan class structures for 2019. To assist us in this process, we ask that if you know your child will not be attending our school in 2019 that you contact the school office ASAP. We are now also organising Kindergarten Orientation and information sessions in preparation for 2019. If you have a Kindergarten child starting in 2019 and are yet to enrol please contact our school office immediately.

Sunday Funday Sunday Funday is just around the corner and we are all very excited! Some classes are still looking for help on the day and also with goods for their stall. 4E are holding a Cakes and Toffee stall. If you are able to donate to this stall please see Mr Egginton. Kindergarten are holding a second hand children’s toys and book stall. If you have any quality second hand toys or children’s book suitable for resale please contact Mrs Gilbert or Mrs McDonald.

Road Safety We are continuing to try to improve our dismissal practices to ensure it is the safe for all students at our school. Whilst we have made significant changes and increased our supervision at this time we ask that you continue to remind students of safe behaviours. If there are changes to your usual pick up procedure we encourage you to contact the school so this can be communicated to your child. We will continue to tell the students to go to the office, or a teacher if they cannot find a parent etc. We ask that the pickup zone process ie. stay in your car and move along to the end when appropriate is relayed to anyone that does not have access to this Newsletter and that may be picking up your child. Recently we have also had children called from the pickup zone into cars still in the round about area. This is an extremely unsafe practice and we will ask children to wait till the cars are in the pickup area before they access the vehicle.

Canteen Pie Drive

With the number of awesome fundraising activities the school has organised for the 50th Anniversary, the canteen had originally planned to skip a pie drive for 2018 and bring it back for 2019. However, we have been asked by a number of parents when it was running (as it is a delicious way to help out the school) so we have decided to add it to calendar for the end of this term. Order forms will be available at the canteen and office BUT the easiest way to order is via the QKR app – just look for the Pie Drive Fundraiser Menu on the app. So if you are keen to fill the fridge and freezer for the school holidays – we are happy to help
