8th Grade Graduation UpdateThe caps and gowns are here!! Last day to pick up isMonday 9:30-12:30pm. Mr. Lundak & Ms. Trainer sentan email regarding logistics of the graduation processand everything leading up to the date of the ceremony.
Pictures of each graduate should be emailed tohomeroom teacher by Wednesday.
We will stick with the same date June 11, the earliest date allowed. The virtualpromotion program is set for 4pm
Also, lawn signs and 8th grade t-shirts will be delivered next week. We have ateam of staff that will be bringing them to each 8th graders residence!

Dear CPS Parents and Families,
Earlier today, the district shared new data that shows thevast majority of students are accessing remote learningdigitally through Google platforms. While this is positivenews, we also acknowledge that we—administrators,educators, parents, and students—are still �guring out how to make remotelearning work best for our community.
As district leaders and mothers of school-aged children, we know this transitionto remote learning has come with its fair share of bumps in the road. However,the data we’re sharing today points to a positive trend that we are committed to

building upon through the end of the year. And should we need to continueremote learning in the fall, we will have a lot of lessons learned to carry forwardinto the new school year.
Remote Learning District Overview | Week of May11The district uses data from Google Analytics and internal sources to understandhow we can better support teachers, students, and families during remotelearning.
Key takeaways from student engagement data:
93 percent of CPS students at district schools have digital access.The percentage of students using Google learning tools for remotelearning at least once a week has increased from 70 percent during the �rstweek of remote learning (April 13–April 17) to 77 percent during the weekof May 11.84 percent of students received at least one grade for an assignmentduring the week of May 11, which is an increase from 51 percent duringthe week grading guidance was released during the week of April 27.85 percent of students were recorded as having contact with their schoolduring the week of May 11 based on data reported by schools.
This is hopeful news for a district that serves a socioeconomically diversestudent body. We believe that the interventions we put in place—fromdistributing more than 122,000 computing devices and more than 12 millionmeals—provided families with the resources they needed to support theirchildren’s education from home.
As we move forward, we’re committed to improving remote learning and theways in which we track student engagement. While it was important for thedistrict to allow schools to use a variety of digital platforms when remotelearning plans were quickly developed, we will be requiring all schools to adoptGoogle platforms should remote learning be needed in the fall. Using Googleacross all schools will ensure we have the most comprehensive data on student

engagement, which will help us provide additional support for the students andschools who need it most.
