Welcome to Jeremy (yr 4)) and Kirsty (yr 3) to our school this week. I am sure they will sele in and feel apart of the community. Welcome back to Dominic and Krystal from their Stew- art House camp for two weeks – they had a great me. Well done staff and students on the great Berry camp last week. A special thank you to Ms Millie for going on two camps this term. Everyone has said they had a fun and challenging me at the sport and recreaon camp. New Staff Members – 2020 Kyson Henry has been appointed to Moruya PS com- mencing next year. He grew up in Taree on the Mid-North Coast. He has an acve lifestyle and absolutely loves being outdoors. He enjoys any- thing beach or water related and will soon be in search for the best fishing spot in Moruya! He also enjoys team sports, parcularly Touch Football and Rugby League or Union. He is strongly commied to teaching and has an excellent work ethic. He com- pleted his HSC in 2016 and moved to the University of New England, where he was a Resident Fellow in 2018 and the Senior Resident Fellow in 2019. His hard work at University and dedicaon in prac-teaching gained Targeted Graduatestatus and the offer of appoint- ment to Moruya PS. The school has also formed a panel to select and inter- view for the posion of Learning and Support Teacher (Mrs Overdijks posion). This will commence in the next couple of weeks. The panel includes; Hamish Tay- lor (staff rep), Sonia Bazzaco (P&C), Dianah Riley (AECG rep) and myself. Remembrance Day 11 November Today, the annual Remembrance Day service was held at the cenotaph today. The captains and I laid a wreath and there was a one minutes silence also observed at the school. Disco – Thursday 14 November Thanks to Lisa and Carla Dale the disco is right to go this Thursday from 5:15pm Any parent help on the night would be appreciated. Some students will receive exclusion notes this week from the disco as per our welfare/discipline policy – 3 or more me-outs in a term or a suspension. Chess Day –This Friday 15 November Mrs Hawke has been busily selecng and inspiring stu- dents in the game of chess ready for an interschool match at Bodalla PS. The final team members are Bede, Arielle, Ma and Maddie. Book Fair Tomorrow, the annual Library Bookfair commences for a week. It is a good opportunity to consider purchasing reading material for children. P & C Meeng – Next Tuesday 19 November All parents (especially new enrolments) are invited to aend the meeng at the Waterfront Hotel at 6pm. Year 6/7 Moruya HS Transion Next Wednesday 20 November, Moruya HS is holding their orientaon day visit. I would urge all year 6 to aend, whether enrolling at MHS or not, it is very worthwhile to get a good understanding of secondary schooling. SRC Muſti Day This Friday is a fund-raising/muſti day to purchase a new pin-board for the SRC. Please bring your gold coin and support their efforts with muſti-clothing! Because of this the term 4 Disco will go ahead next:

This Thursday 14th November 2019

K-3 disco will be - 5.15pm - 6.45pm Years 3-6 - 7pm - 8.30pm Entry is $3 each disco or $5 for both discos (for year 3 only).

Canteen will be available—sausage sandwiches and other goodies. Parent/carer help on the night would be much appreciated! Please come along and lend a hand.

BOOK FAIR 2019 is this week. The term 4 Book Fair begins tomorrow on; Tuesday 12th November and finishes on Thursday 14th of November. Please come and buy some books at our book fair as it is a great support for our library. We receive many valuable resources for the library as a commission on sales and the children do love the book fair books. They also make great Christmas presents at this time of the year. Please feel free to donate a book to our library as donations are always gratefully accepted.

The library will be open for sales on: * Tuesday 12th Nov before school @ 8.40am-9am & afternoon tea 1.50-2.10pm * Wednesday 13th Nov before school @ 8.40am-9am & afternoon tea 1.50-2.10pm & after school from 3pm * Thursday 14th Nov before school 8.40am-9am & lunch time 11am—11.45. Please note: Thursday is the last day of the fair and last sales will be at LUNCHTIME on that day. Thank you so much in anticipation of your support, see you there.

SRC - MUFTI & ICE BLOCK DAY Gold coin donation.

This Friday—15th November the SRC are holding a Mufti and ice-block day. Come dressed in your casual clothes and enjoy an ice block with us. We are asking for a gold coin donation please as we raise money for an SRC pin board for the school.

ST MARY’S BEFORE SCHOOL AFL AUSKICK BEFORE school AFL Auskick will start on Friday 8th November and run for 5 weeks in the play-ground at St Mary’s in Moruya. Starting at 8am and finishing at 8.45am. Boys and girls between the ages of turning 5 and 12 are welcome. Cost of the program is $46 and all participants receive the AFL football pack. (Football, pump, footy cards, underwater speaker or headphones and insurance). Google AFL Auskick-register postcode-select St Mary’s Moruya (Before School) Auskick Centre—follow prompts. FAMILIES OF OUR YEAR 6 STUDENTS PLEASE NOTE The year 6 Graduation night has been changed to Tuesday 10th Decem-ber—the same day as Presentation Day. The evening will be help at Moruya Golf Club, as in previous years, and more information will be sent home when the details have been finalised.
