Week 5 - 16th November, 2018
FROM THE DESK OF OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings, It has been another exciting week at Tyalla Public School.
The fabulous art works completed by Stage 3 for their Archibald Art competition demonstrated a range of
skills and perspectives. It was so difficult to choose a winner from the range of great artworks. Well done
students and their teachers.
This week the teachers engaged in some fantastic Professional Learning on the Science and Technology
syllabus being implemented in 2019, and digital technologies.
Mrs Devereux, Mr Gillespie, Miss Minogue and Mrs Koufis attend the Building Numeracy expo as part of our
commitment to Building Numeracy Leadership. Involved schools shared their journey to date and planned
into the future. Teachers across the school, K-6, have been revisiting how we teach number with a focus on
Number Talk. I have been privileged to sit in on a number of collaboration days where teachers engaged in
quality discussions and viewed our students engaging in Number Talk with their teachers.
We have a number of important events coming up as the year all too quickly draws to a close. Please check
your child’s bag regularly for notes.
