The P&C have engaged a contractor to build a retaining wall on the embankment next to the playground equipment. This will help with reducing the stormwater washing away our soft fall. The school is going to fund the construction of a fence along the top to keep this area safe for our students. The same contractor will also be constructing a timber deck area to place our newly purchased mud kitchen and are installing a bridge from the playground into the Aboriginal garden area. A big thank you to all of our community (past and present) who have supported the P&C to make this happen. Thank you also to Year 1 students who provided the P&C with ideas. We still have a lot of little jobs to do, which will need volunteers to help with so we can finish of this space beautifully. I am really excited and look forward to seeing the children enjoy these new areas. We already know how much they love nature play, with the construction shelters and the making of mud pies already happening on a daily basis. In addition to all the work being organised and funded by the P&C, Schools Infrastructure have been given the direction to finish all scheduled maintenance work by April next year. This will mean lots of painting for our school and fixing up of areas that really need it! The next six months are going to see lots of improvements – our school will be beautiful inside and out! A MESSAGE FROM MRS HUGHES Only three sleeps until the holidays! Over the holidays our school is going to start to transform and it is very exciting.

The P&C have engaged a contractor to build a retaining wall on the embankment next to the playground equipment. This will help with reducing the stormwater washing away our soft fall. It is going to really beautify the area and also provide seating, with two rows of sandstone and a garden through the middle.

Hope to see you at Friday’s Colour Run. Have a wonderful holidays with your children. Stay safe.

SAFETY MESSAGES Last week, we needed to remind some students not to climb the trees along the Marshall Street fence on their way home. It is a long drop and the fence beside it increases the risk of hitting something on the way down. I have also asked children not to climb the tree on Lookout Road, as this is such a busy area. If parents could discourage this, we would greatly appreciate it. We love tree climbing – just not at school! Please do not park or pull up in front of our neighbours’ driveways. This problem is ongoing –both in the mornings and afternoons. Even after last week’s messages, parents are still pulling up in the school driveway. This is an emergency access point, but also shares with our neighbours. If you can’t get a park out the front, please do not worry, your children are being supervised and the staff are happy to wait with students 5–10 minutes after the bell. Don’t forget, parents/carers are welcome to park in Marshall Street and wait at the back gate. A teacher will watch the students as they walk down the drive to their parents/carers. I please ask you for your assistance with both of these matters.

TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY Hooray!! We are half way there with 25 responses. Thank you.

Please give us important feedback by completing The Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Parents As Partners Survey. Last year the responses from this helped us plan ideas for the playground and also let us know that parents would benefit from some support with helping learning at home. Last year 40 parents completed this survey. Let’s aim for 50 this year!
