THE SECRET HERB GARDEN OFFERS A TRULY MAGICAL TOUCH TO YOUR BIG DAY, AS WE WORK WITH YOU, HAND IN HAND, TO ENSURE YOUR SPECIAL MOMENT IS TRULY MEMORABLE.

THE SETTING IS UNIQUE AND OFFERS A ROMANTIC, PERSONAL AND SENSORY EXPERIENCE AS THE COLOURS AND SMELLS OF THE HERBS EMBRACE YOU.

The location:

Nestled at the foot of the Pentland Hills only twenty minutes from Edinburgh lies our wonderful Secret Herb Garden tucked away on the Old Pentland Road. The garden is set within 7.5 acres bordered by native hedgerows and a gentle stream, surrounded by fields and magnificent hills.

The ceremony:

Whether you choose to have your ceremony in the glasshouse, the garden or the yurt you can expect something completely different if you choose to celebrate with us. We are able to tailor make your wedding and can assist with flowers, catering, photography and everything else besides.

VENUE HIRE

4pm until midnight, Monday to Sunday. Charge includes staff, glasses, plates, cutlery.

Due to colder temperatures in the glasshouse during the autumn and winter months we currently offer weddings from May to September. If you would like to discuss a date out with this period please let us know.

WEDDING BREAKFAST

We can seat a maximum of 60 people for a formal wedding breakfast. This can increase to 80 for more casual dining.

The Secret Herb Garden collaborates with several food partners for wedding catering. We can provide more information on request.

WINE & BEER

The Secret Herb Garden specialises in natural wine and beer which we can provide. We can also host a paying bar.

FLOWERS/ TABLE POSIES

Flower garlands, crowns, button holes and bridal bouquet can be arranged. Prices available on request. Charge from £200

LICENSE

We do not hold a wedding license but we are able to host humanist ceremonies with a celebrant.

PHOTOGRAPHY

We have worked with various photographers who we can recommend.

CONFETTI

Natural dried petals should be used rather than paper confetti. We are able to supply this but only in limited numbers. Please ask for more information.

ACCOMMODATION

We are happy to recommend accommodation nearby.

PARKING

free parking is available for wedding guests.

TAXIS

We can provide numbers for local taxi firms on request.

FIREWORKS/

NIGHT LANTERNS

We are happy for you to have night lanterns at your ceremony but unfortunately no fireworks.

STRETCHY TENT

We are able to provide a Stretchy Tent from Stretch Tents Scotland at a starting price £1500. Please ask for further details.

PROVISIONAL BOOKINGS

Clients must confirm their agreed date in writing to liberty@secretherbgarden.co.uk.

CONFIRMATION

Your wedding will become confirmed on receipt of a 25% deposit with a second instalment of 25% to be paid a month prior to the date of the wedding. The final 50% should be settled within a week after the wedding.

CANCELLATIONS

We understand that sometimes weddings have to be cancelled. In exceptional circumstances we will be able to waive your 25% deposit however we will discuss this with you should this event occur.

On the night before the wedding they even hosted a bouquet workshop by Jim and Belle Flowers which was fun and relaxing for Sooz and the bridesmaids. We opted to bring catering from the Union of Genius’ van Dumbo. We also took up the offer of a cash bar manned by Hamish, and it made for a perfect set up, again with locally sourced produce.
