Natural Retreats Yorkshire Dales provides a

truly magical offering for those planning a

wedding, offering a stunning, breath-taking

location, a fantastic ceremony and reception

venue, versatile outdoor space, on-site luxury

accommodation and a personal wedding

planner - all in one place.

Set within 55 acres of some of England’s finest

countryside, Natural Retreats Yorkshire Dales

offers an idyllic and secluded setting for your

special day. Placed a one mile walk from the

historic market town of Richmond and one mile

from Yorkshire Dales National Park, Natural

Retreats boasts beautiful, uninterrupted views

out across the Swale Valley, with rolling green

countryside as far as the eye can see.

Our spacious Sanctuary offers the perfect place

for both ceremonies and receptions. Filled with

natural light, the venue sits atop a hill giving

visitors incredible views across the valley. There

is a choice of three rooms to suit your party size

and the entire space is also available for hire.

We can seat up to 100 for a wedding ceremony

at the Sanctuary. For a sit-down meal, we can

accommodate up to 100 guests in our Swale

room or up to 40 guests in our Aislabeck room.

For evening receptions, we can hold up to 200

guests. Those with larger party sizes may be

interested in hiring a marquee on the adjacent

land, this can be arranged upon request.

Our on-site luxury residences allow family and

friends to fully share your special day, offering

18 three bedroom, award-winning residences –

boasting iconic design, floor-to-ceiling windows,

open lounges with dining and kitchen area,

wood burning stoves and luxurious interiors,

totalling 54 bedrooms on site.

We want to ensure that every part of your

wedding with us is tailored to you, helping build

a perfect experience and lifelong memories

that stay with you forever. We offer a range of

catering options to suit all tastes and budgets

and are here to help with any additional

requirements – from recommending florists to

arranging luxury spa treatments, your wish is

ACCOMMODATION

The award-winning design, modern open plan

living and sustainable build are only a few

highlights of these superb residences. The huge

expanse of glass allows the magnificence of the

natural surroundings to be as much a part of the

luxury experience as the exquisite attention to

detail showcased in our interiors.

Having benefited recently from a complete

refurbishment, the interior of each residence has

been entirely revamped, incorporating ethical

and exquisite design. The 18 lodges are lovingly

furnished with bespoke touches such as the

exclusively designed sofas and innovative ‘cube’

seats, showcasing colours purposely chosen to

compliment and mirror the idyllic scenery.

Locally-sourced items have been used wherever

possible, from the beautiful sofa cushions to the

unusual ‘tree trunk’ bedside tables, just another

example of Natural Retreats’ commitment to

sustainability.

As well as beautifully updated interiors the

residences have also benefited from rejuvenated

exteriors, enhanced roads and pathways.

And, a selection of residences will boast

private outdoor fire pits encircled by sunken

seating, enabling guests to further appreciate

the beautiful backdrop and views across the

stunning Swale Valley.

Each residence has three bedrooms and can

accommodate a maximum of six adults – the

size and make-up of the bedrooms varies across

two styles of residence.

Half of the residences boast a large master

bedroom with en-suite shower and wet room as

well as two slightly smaller double bedrooms.

These two rooms share a large family bathroom

together with bath and shower.

Our other nine residences also offer three

double bedrooms, each of which, has an en-

suite shower room and wc. Across all of our

residences we have a bedroom which can be

made up as a twin for children with adjoining zip

and link mattresses, perfect for younger guests

Blanc de Blancs Brut, Philippe Herard NV £13.50 Fresh and zingy in style and made using the traditional method, one of the best sparkling wines to come out of France

Pierre Courtois Brut £25.00 By law Champagne takes at least 3 years to make, Pierre Courtois completes the vinification in that time span then matures the stock for a further one year before releasing it. This is very elegant champagne grown in the Valley de la Marne, and made from 50% Pinot Noir , 40% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. It has a fine mousse to it, good fruit with acidity to match. Nice and long on the palate, used as the ‘pourer’ in the British Embassy in Paris.

Jenkyn Place Brut 2008 (English) £26.00 Grown in Hampshire and made from three quarters Chardonnay with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier making up the balance, shiny brightness with pithy citrus, acacia blossom and elderflower nose. Soft creamy mousse, cool and suave, strawberry aromas waft around a shiny citrus steel core.

RED WINES

Las Condes Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 (Chile) £8.00 Deep ruby colour with a nose dominated by ripe blackcurrant fruit. Medium to full-bodied, supple with soft tannins and acidity and a long finish.

Los Gansos Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 (Chile) £9.00 Round and structured with plum and raspberry notes and a touch of light vanilla. Very well balanced and elegant.

Château de Hauterive, Cahors 2009 £10.00 The Filhot family at Château de Hauterive vinify their grapes to make them slip down more smoothly and agreeably by adding a quarter of Merlot to the Malbec to make their wines soft and accessible.

Domaine Chasson, Côtes de Luberon 2009 £10.00 Half Syrah, half Grenache this magnificently chunky red punches way above its weight, resembling an exquisite Châteauneuf, but at a fraction of the cost.

Château Méaume, Bordeaux Superieur 2009 £13.00 Grown by the greatest Englishman in Bordeaux, Alan Johnson-Hill. The 2009 is the best wine he has made since acquiring the property in 1980. Half Merlot half Cabernet Sauvignon, this excellent claret has a beautiful dark red colour to it, pronounced blackcurrants on the nose and to taste it is nicely balanced with heaps of fruit that coat the palate, the tannins are soft and ripe and the fruit goes on and on

Château Carteau, Grand Cru Saint Emilion 2009 £25.00 The Bertrand family own this star of a property in the Côtes Daugay one of the best parts of Saint Emilion. Château Carteau is within a cork’s length of Château Angelus that normally sells for £1000 a case ‘en primeur’. Château Carteau is made from 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, lovely dark colour, pronounced dark chocolate on the nose, to taste big, flattering, gutsy but elegant with a superb long finish. Excellent claret.

Las Condes Chardonnay 2012 (Chile) £8.00 Pale gold colour with a fruity nose of fresh pineapple and a touch of banana fruit. On the palate it has a smooth creamy mouth-feel to it but with balanced acidity and very full. The grapes are handpicked and the winery is in the Rapel Valley, some 180 kms south of Santiago.

El Caballo Sauvignon Blanc 2012 (Chile) £8.50 Delicious Sauvignon bursting with aromas of cut grass, lemon zest and gooseberries. Refreshingly crisp and dry on the palate with a lively acidity showing vibrant flavours of tropical fruits, it is well balanced, has great depth and a long clean finish.

Los Gansos Chardonnay 2012 (Chile) £9.00 Young and fresh with notes of white peaches backed by a mineral character, complex, vigorous with pleasant acidity and good length.

Anjou Blanc, Domaine Ackerman 2009 £10.00 Pale yellow with green hues. On the nose apples and pears and to taste well balanced and a delicious off-dry aromas of pears, honey and lemons. A lively refreshing and mouth-watering finish. Grown from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes.

Sancerre, Domaine Brochard 2011 £18.50 The wine has a refreshing aroma with hints of nettles and cut grass. These characteristics are continued on to the palate which has a stony, elderflower fruit character with fresh, zesty acidity.

Las Condes Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2011 (Chile) £8.50

Beautiful ruby red colour with aromas that are characterized by citric notes that go well with the strawberry and raspberry flavours.

Post Tree Pinotage Rosé 2011 (RSA) £8.50 Elegant rosé bursting with flavours of fresh strawberries and ripe cherries. Grown and vinified in the Cape Winelands from the Pinotage grape, a graft of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Sensational.

Domaine du Grand Chemin Vin Gris Vin de Pays d’Oc 2012 £12.00

The grapes are left very briefly in contact with the fermenting juice resulting in a wine with a beguiling salmon pink colour, it is packed with cherries, raspberries and plums, crisp and easy to glug

We have created a wonderful space for the

perfect wedding. In order to offer impeccable

service and maintain our highest standards, we

ask that you please respect a few house rules.

We do not allow the following;

• Table candles

• Outside catering

• Fireworks

TERMS & CONDITIONS

DEPOSITA 25% deposit is required for accommodation

and site hire. This is non-refundable. Your

booking is regarded as provisional until a signed

copy of a wedding/events contract is received

by Natural Retreats with a deposit of 25%.

BALANCEThe balance for accommodation and the site

hire is then due 8 weeks prior to the date of the

weddevent.

FOOD & BEVERAGEFood & Beverage charges are to be paid in

advance. 50% payment should be made 8 weeks

prior and remaining balance 14 days prior to

event, unless otherwise arranged.

ROOM ALLOCATIONRates quoted are per unit as indicated. If the

number of lodges required falls below the

agreed number, then these will still be charged

for. Please note that lodges provided must not

be filled above their stated occupancy level.

Natural Retreats reserve the right to charge for

Non Arrivals, Cancellations and Reduction in

Numbers after the final cancellation deadline.

The final rooming list must be received by

Natural Retreats no later than 14 days prior to

arrival. Arrival, departure times, meal schedules,

dietary requirements and other special requests,

need to be confirmed to Natural Retreats 14

days prior to arrival.
