day I wish you the best as you plan your big day and I hope the planning will unfold perfectly for you two

Irsquom Ceacutelie and Irsquom a Dutch photographer based in Rotterdam the Netherlands and the Algarve Portugal The first

few photographs I took were on an old analog Canon FTb film camera my dad gave me a few years ago and that

was it I was hooked After finishing my studies in Social Sciences in 2014 I attended the BA photography at the

Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and worked in the printing industry in Rotterdam I love forests beaches

and natural light Being an outdoorsy-type I am most inspired when Irsquom photographing in the fresh air with

couples who share the same appreciation for a relaxed informal atmosphere nature and all-around good vibes

When Irsquom not taking pictures you can find me in the ocean surfing on the beach for sunset BBQrsquos or thrifting for

second hand finds However you imagine your wedding day whether itrsquos with 40 of your closest family amp friends

PREPARATIONS01 Its morning the suns out and youve just had your first coffee its you and

bae your best friends amp family getting dressed up for the big day During this time we will capture the behind the scenes of your bridal amp grooms prepara-tion in a candid documentary style While you are enjoying your quiet pri-vate time before your day officially kicks off we are present to document these intimate moments without ever interfering with you or your guests Dur-ing the down-moments of the preparations we take out some time to capture all the details youve spend so much attention to whilst planning THE DRESS the suit the venue the decorations and florals your invitations and your rings As the day continues your guests slowly come dripping in its almost time for the moment everyone came to see your ceremony and I-dos During this time we are busy taking candids of everyone arriving and if youd like we can also set up a space for guest portraits That means we will never be in the way of you or your guests and you will barely notice usMinutes after your ceremony ended youre radiant and glowing with happi-ness youve just married the love of your life This is a great time to sneak out for a bit to take your official weddingday portraits Depending on your prefer-ences well take 20-30 minutes sometime between the ceremony the cocktail hour and the dinner to take your portraits Earlier in the morning we will have already scouted the best locations at and around your venue for the photographs The session will be short amp sweet so that you can spend your time en-joying the company of your family and friends Yeeew the por-traits have been taken and the evening festivities are about to kick off Last but not least we capture your reception the start of the dinner your first dance and the party When the first few dances have been done and your guests are ready for partying deep into the night its a wrap for us Well make back-ups of all the photographs in the staff area of your venue pack-up say goodbye and wish you the best night of your life

Do you deliver every image you shoot

No we do not We eliminate duplicate images test shots missed focused shots shots with bad expressions and other

images that may dilute the overall product delivery For example because we shoot with low apertures sometimes

we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus We donrsquot expect you to have the time to zoom into

each image to select the one with the sharpest focus so we spend hours doing that on our end In another example

candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day Unfortunately they can also yield some

unflattering facial expressions We might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure we have a great

shot with the ideal expression for the moment With our expertise of processing tons of images each year we may

eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one

Do you do destination weddings

While Oydin + Mei Wedding Photography is based out of Lagos Portugal and the Algarve we serve clients all

around the world Our destination wedding photography packages include the cost of travel and reasonable accom-

modations Because of our frequent trips to the Netherlands special lower rates may apply depending on the specific

circumstances

What if our ceremony is in a different language

We speak English Dutch and a intermediate level of French However we have also covered weddings in which

we do not speak the primary language of the ceremony We approach these weddings with research understanding

the traditions and culture of the wedding We also have talk-through meetings with couples before the wedding to

ensure we are aware of the major moments Lastly we always ensure that we stay alert leaning on the instincts that

we have developed for capturing the emotion and stories at any given moment Wo while different languages can

present challenges in the end artistry creativity and storytelling are all universal coconuts that our team will portray

in your photography and cinematography

Should I hire a second photographerassistant

If your wedding has more then 50 guests you should make sure to set up to a package that has an assistant photog-

rapher Aside from the wedding site there are many moments in which one single photographer cannot cover com-

pletely alone There is no way to capture the first kiss and at the same time turn around and get the tear in motherrsquos

eye

What attire will the photographer and their assistant wear

Even though the wedding photographers are a big part of the wedding day itrsquos important that they are not distrac-

tions As such itrsquos important for the photographer to blend in as much as possible Furthermore fore religious or

cultural ceremonies there may be certain colors that are considered taboo We always make sure our photographers

will be dressed appropriately for the occasion Typical attire for us is a dark pair of neat jeans with a white or black

shirt and black sneakers

How long after the event will the proofs albums etc be ready

We have a consistent production schedule in order to deliver an amazing product in an exceptionally quick manner

This schedule can be seen below

1 3-4 weeks for Engagement Family or Anniversary photography sessions

2 7-8 weeks for Weddings and Receptions

Have you shot at my venue before

We have shot at a variety of venues so there is a good chance that we have However if we have not we will get to

the venue early on the day of and be sure to perform a thorough walk-through to scout out the best photography

locations We also do extensive online research prior to your big day

Does your studio do headshots individual portraits editorial photography or family portraits

No we currently do not provide videography services However we do work together with videographers that we

Yes we do Every image we deliver is post produced with our unique signature style of post-production This

involves color correction exposure adjustment selective black and white processing clarity adjustments tone-map-

ping and other corrections

What do you mean by ldquotouching uprdquo the photos

ldquoTouching uprdquo in our studio is the same as our signature (standard) post-production See the question below for

clarification

What is the difference between light and custom and why are there additional costs for a custom retouch

Light post-production includes touch-ups such as removal of blemishes removal of bags under eyes removal of fly-away hairs

etc On the other hand custom post production is anything that requires extensive custom work in Photoshop such as removing

entire objects from the scene changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene adding objects to a scene and

other custom work We charge hourly for the custom post-production as the time required ranges depending on the complexity

Wedding Day Questions

How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding day photos

Because we want you to spend all your time on enjoying your wedding day we keep the wedding day

portraits session short and sweet We advise to set aside approximately 20-30 minutes sometime during

the wedding day

I have downtime between events on my wedding day Will I be charged for that downtime

For a variety of reasons we have to charge for the time inbetween events The fact is wersquore never truly

resting during the day whether wersquore backing up images setting up for the second venue traveling to

the second location taking venue shots or making up for lost photo time because of unforeseen wedding

day delays In many cases we use that ldquodowntimerdquo to take you and your significant other out for a photo

session or more family portraits

What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time

We understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding We never pack up before the con-

tracted time and moreover wersquore not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up Instead we will

ask you at the end of your contracted time whether or not you would like to extend If you would like us

to stay we will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 30-minute increment

Why do we need to charge for additional coverage

Wersquove dedicated the entire day to your wedding so we wonrsquot be racing off to catch other plans that

evening However we need to charge for additional coverage primarily because there are costs of having

the team stay for additional hours The photographer and assistants all require additional compensation

Furthermore the additional photos taken will need to be post-produced which adds to our overall costs

Engagement Session Questions

When can we expect to see our photos from our engagement session

Post-production for engagement sessions are completed 6-8 weeks after the date of the shoot If you

require the images to be completed prior to 6-8 weeks after the date of the shoot a rush process fee will

be charged

When should we do our engagement session

We encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible The latest we suggest is at least 10-

12 weeks prior to the wedding date due to the time necessary to post produce each image and complete

your product order(s)

Can we schedule our engagement session for the weekend

Because most weddings occur on weekends we typically do not shoot engagement sessions on weekends

If you can only do your engagement session on a weekend we can tentatively schedule your engagement

session on a weekend however if a wedding is scheduled for that weekend later on we will have to

reschedule your engagement session There will also be an additional charge for weekend engagement

sessions because the few weekends we have free we spend with our families We also like to shoot on

weekdays because locations are typically less crowded

How many images do you typically deliver from an engagement session From a wedding

We typically deliver anywhere from 40-50 images per 2-hour engagement shoot and for a wedding we

typically deliver 50-60 images per hour Keep in mind these numbers may increase or decrease depending

on the flow of the day and the number of eventsactivities needing to be captured

When and where can we our engagement pictures

Your engagement session images will be completed no more than 6 weeks after the date of the shoot If

you require the images to be completed prior to 6 weeks after the date of your shoot a rush edit fee of

euro25000 will be charged

What size can we print our photo up to with our full resolution images

You can print your photos up to 20x30cm without any quality loss Id yoursquod like to print lager than

20x30 additional post production will be required For pricing on these services please contact us at

What rights do I have to the digital prints

You have the right to reprint images whenever you want However you may not sell your images for

profit or publish your images without the written consent of Lin and Jirsa Photography

Do you provide RAW files

Each of our packages comes with a full resolution image download However we typically do not provide

RAW (unprocessed) files from our shoots because we believe in delivering a finished product In fact

wersquore often shooting with the end (post-produced) product in mind

How many images do you deliver on download

For a 2-hour engagement session we typically deliver 40-50 images and for a wedding we typically de-

liver 50-60 images per hour of coverage Keep in mind these numbers may increase or decrease depend-

ing on the flow of the day and the number of eventsactivities needing to be captured

Do you provide the digital negatives after the shoot

Yes we do All of the packages come with Full Resolution image download

What if I loose my images

There is a euro100 replacement charge for additional downloads after the event has been archived We

strongly suggest you make at least one copy of the download when you receive it from us

How long does it take to get my album

As with our other products production times vary However you can typically expect to receive your album 6

weeks after placing the order The process prior to placing the order varies in duration depending on how quickly

you respond to instructions for the album design as well as the number of changes you request after the initial

designs Some brides complete this within a month or two others take over a year Similar to the post-production

process if you require rush processing a fee of euro25000 will be charged Additional fees for rush shipping may also

apply

How long does it take to get my prints

Production times vary however print orders will generally be completed within 6 weeks after the product order is

How many pagesimages do we get in our wedding day album

Our signature Oydin + Mei album contains 30 pages and 80+- images If yoursquod like to add more pages and images

Do you guys provide framing services as well

We do not provide framing services however we can provide you with recommendations on where to purchase and frame

your images

How do I get started on my wedding album

The Wedding Album Design Process is outlined below Album Design Steps

(1) Fill out Album Order Form

Before starting the design process we will send you an album order form where you can mark all your preferences

Please note that selecting a size or other specifications that are different from those in your package will result in ad-

ditional charges Please look at what your contract includes and mark the appropriate box unless you would like to

upgrade your album specifications

(2) Initial Design

There are two options for selecting the images for your album We can choose the images or your

favorites can be selected on the online gallery Once the images are selected we will design the first draft of your

album and send you a link where you can review it

(3) Major Revision

a local server set up in a RAID 1 configuration as well as copy them to an offsite hard drive At any given point before delivery of

Do you have liability insurance

Yes Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance We carry general business equipment and liability

Do you deliver every image you shoot

No we do not We eliminate duplicate images test shots missed focused shots shots with bad expressions and other

images that may dilute the overall product delivery For example because we shoot with low apertures sometimes

we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus We donrsquot expect you to have the time to zoom into

each image to select the one with the sharpest focus so we spend hours doing that on our end In another example

candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day Unfortunately they can also yield some

unflattering facial expressions We might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure we have a great

shot with the ideal expression for the moment With our expertise of processing tons of images each year we may

eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one

Do you do destination weddings

While Oydin + Mei Wedding Photography is based out of Lagos Portugal and the Algarve we serve clients all

around the world Our destination wedding photography packages include the cost of travel and reasonable accom-

What if our ceremony is in a different language

We speak English Dutch and a intermediate level of French However we have also covered weddings in which

If your wedding has more then 50 guests you should make sure to set up to a package that has an assistant photog-

rapher Aside from the wedding site there are many moments in which one single photographer cannot cover com-

pletely alone There is no way to capture the first kiss and at the same time turn around and get the tear in motherrsquos

eye

After the initial changes are communicated we will redesign the album and send a second draft You are then free to

We have never lost an image from a wedding due to the following backup workflow for each our events

During the event we shoot on two cards at the same time This instantly creates a backup of every image in the camera After-

ward we separate the primary cards from the backup cards should anything happen to one set We then back up the images to

a local server set up in a RAID 1 configuration as well as copy them to an offsite hard drive At any given point before delivery of

the images there are two copies of the files in separate locations

Do you have liability insurance

Yes Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance We carry general business equipment and liability

When can we expect to see our photos from our engagement session

Post-production for engagement sessions are completed 6-8 weeks after the date of the shoot If you

require the images to be completed prior to 6-8 weeks after the date of the shoot a rush process fee will

be charged

When should we do our engagement session

We encourage you to do your engagement session as soon as possible The latest we suggest is at least 10-

12 weeks prior to the wedding date due to the time necessary to post produce each image and complete

your product order(s)

Can we schedule our engagement session for the weekend

Because most weddings occur on weekends we typically do not shoot engagement sessions on weekends

If you can only do your engagement session on a weekend we can tentatively schedule your engagement

session on a weekend however if a wedding is scheduled for that weekend later on we will have to

reschedule your engagement session There will also be an additional charge for weekend engagement

sessions because the few weekends we have free we spend with our families We also like to shoot on

weekdays because locations are typically less crowded

How many images do you typically deliver from an engagement session From a wedding

We typically deliver anywhere from 40-50 images per 2-hour engagement shoot and for a wedding we

typically deliver 50-60 images per hour Keep in mind these numbers may increase or decrease depending

on the flow of the day and the number of eventsactivities needing to be captured

When and where can we our engagement pictures

Your engagement session images will be completed no more than 6 weeks after the date of the shoot If

Business Insurance and Image Backup Questions

Do you backup our images How can we ensure that our images wonrsquot be lost

We have never lost an image from a wedding due to the following backup workflow for each our events

During the event we shoot on two cards at the same time This instantly creates a backup of every image in the camera After-

ward we separate the primary cards from the backup cards should anything happen to one set We then back up the images to

a local server set up in a RAID 1 configuration as well as copy them to an offsite hard drive At any given point before delivery of

the images there are two copies of the files in separate locations

Do you have liability insurance

Yes Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance We carry general business equipment and liability

insurance Insurance protects us against equipment theft but more importantly it provides liability protection in case Great Aunt

Sophie trips over the photographerrsquos bag and breaks her leg

Meeting Policies

We live out-of-town Is it possible for our familyfriends to meet with you instead

Wersquod love to meet your relatives answer their questions and review our work with them If possible wersquod like to at least skype

facetime with you to get to know you better

Wersquore very busy and wonrsquot be able to meet What are our other options

We would love to meet with you prior to our engagement shoot or wedding however if yoursquore too busy or too far away we can

handle everything remotely Just let us know what information you need and we will do our best to accommodate your request

For example if you would like to see more of our work we can gladly show you complete events online If you would like to talk

about packages and get a sense of the photographerrsquos personality telephone calls and Skype appointments can be arranged

Do you travel to meet clients

Due to the limitations of our schedule we currently do not travel outside the West-Algarve Portugal to meet clients If you would

like to schedule a meeting please contact your planner at Portugal Wedding

How do I reserve you for my date

All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and deposit

What fs we exceed our contracted time for our engagement shoot andor wedding day coverage

Standard rates apply for overtime Overtime is billed at the rate of euro80hour per Master Photographer and euro50

hour per Second Photographer

If we cancel the wedding will we receive our deposit back

Unfortunately no Retainer fees are used to reserve your date Once wersquove reserved your date we do not accept new

clients for your date

If we change our wedding to a different date will we be able to use our deposit towards a future date

Generally no but this is taken on a case by case basis The reason for canceling and our availability is taken into ac-

count Also if rates change from your original date to your new date the new rates will apply

Are there travel fees associated with the engagement session andor wedding day shoots

We are based in Lagos Portugal and all travel expenses are based on the distance between Lagos and your event

location(s) The following destinations are subject to the following travel fees

- The West-Algarve PT None The East-Algarve PT euro45 flat fee

- Lisbon Region PT euro15000 flat fee

- Porto Region PT euro20000 flat fee

For multi-day events an additional fee of euro75 per day applies for accommodation amp day expenses per photographer

All other destinations will be negotiated and handled on a case-by-case basis

Why do you charge travel fees

The primary purpose is to provide adequate compensation for the additional time spent in travel Trips to Lisbon

for example can take over four hours each way This is time for which we have to compensate our team For this

reason coupled with the costs of reimbursing the team for the actual costs of travel these fees are unfortunately

necessary

If I pay for my package in cash will we be able to avoid paying sales tax or receive a discount
