website as a measure of performance A hit is a single visit However, if purpose of website is, for

example, to sell shoes, it is better to measure the number of shoes sold rather than number of visits

If it is a hotel website, it is better to count the number of new clients

If it is a school, you can measure the change in course registration and so on.

WEB STATISTICS Several tools automatically record the

types of visitors on your website including information such as browser uses, page visited, documents viewed or downloaded, country and city of orgin

person landing there knows what to do. Example: If you sell shoes, have a big button

somewhere saying “Buy” or a clear message requesting the client to buy

If you sell houses, you can have a virtual tour of various houses and offer a free DVD on the houses

Always ask yourself: What should the visitor do when they land on this page?
