Can Raw Close The Year Out On A High Note With Final PPV Of 2016?

Introduction: It's the final PPV of the calendar year with the Raw exclusive Roadblock: End of the Line. And on paper this looks like it should be a pretty solid show to close the year out.

Sasha and Charlotte are having a thirty-minute Ironman Match which should be great and I think Owens and Reigns will have a really good Universal Title match. The undercard looks good as well, Rollins and Jericho should have a good match and the triple threat for the Cruiserweight Title stands out. Although this might not be the most noteworthy show, after all the December PPV is the one they just have to get out of the way before they can start working towards the Rumble and WrestleMania season I think the quality of wrestling should be good enough to at least match SmackDown's TLC earlier this month.Kickoff: Big Cass vs. Rusev: On the kickoff show Rusev will take on Big Cass. I'm not sure why they've put this match on the kickoff, the main card only has six matches so they could've done with having this on the main card too and they could've just thrown something together for the kickoff show. They've been building this for a few weeks now too although they've really been building a Rusev and Enzo feud but it's Big Cass in the match here against Rusev. Rusev has dominated Enzo, beat him a couple of times on TV and then destroyed him in the hotel room segment. So Big Cass steps in here and I can see him pulling out the win.

Page 3: Web viewSasha and Charlotte are having a . thirty-minute. Ironman Match which should be great and I think Owens and Reigns will have a really good Universal Title match

Rusev like I said has dominated the feud so far and I think the Big Cass singles experiment continues here, they wouldn't put Enzo over Rusev but I think Cass will get the win here. It won't do a lot for Rusev who again has fallen down the card since losing the US Title, he has a chance but I think Cass wins this with Enzo there to celebrate the win.

Chances of Winning:

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro & Sheamus: Cesaro and Sheamus get yet another crack at the tag titles here against the New Day. So New Day are now the longest reigning tag team champions in history surpassing Demolition this week. But now they should be dropping the titles, they were never going to drop them so close to breaking the record but they've been champions for more than long enough. Although I would prefer Gallows and Anderson to be winning the titles over Cesaro and Sheamus. The Cesaro and Sheamus partnership isn't terrible but it's wasting Cesaro. How much more has

Big Cass 65%

Rusev 35%

that guy got to do to prove he's main event calibre, instead if he and Sheamus win the titles here then he's stuck in the tag division in this team when he could be doing much better things. This should be a pretty good tag match despite the fact we've seen a lot of New Day versus Cesaro and Sheamus lately but I think New Day's reign ends here. They're the record holders now, there's no need for them to remain champions and although Cesaro and Sheamus aren't the ideal team in my opinion to be ending that reign I think that's the direction WWE are going in.

Chances of Winning:

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Rich Swann (c) vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. T.J. Perkins: Swann defends his Cruiserweight

Title here in a triple threat against Kendrick and Perkins. This is a match I am looking forward to and is one of the contests that stands out most to me on this card. I think this could be the best Cruiserweight match we've seen since the reintroduction of the division to the main roster. You've got three fantastic workers in here and given time which they definitely should get I think they can have a real class triple threat match. Swann recently won the title on 205 Live, I do like Swann so I've got no problems with him as champion. Although I do feel Kendrick's reign ended prematurely, I feel

they should've built up to Swann's win more but I think they wanted a big title change to kick off the new 205 Live show. So if Kendrick won the title back here and Swann then chases him for it I'd be pleased but if Swann retained I wouldn't complain either. Unfortunately for Perkins I don't give him much of a chance, I'll say Swann leaves still champion.

Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman: With a ten-minute time limit Sami Zayn faces Braun Strowman here. This is a weird one because I think they've actually built this match pretty well. The whole thing of Sami begging Foley for the match with Strowman so he can prove himself but Foley refusing to give him it but in the end this past Monday on Raw granting him the match after seeing Sami bring out the fire he needed to see. But then Foley went and said Sami must last ten minutes with Strowman and that makes the whole thing kind of lame for me. Does this mean we're supposed to treat it like a win for Sami if he lasts a mere ten minutes with Braun? I know they're building Braun as a monster heel and don't want him pinned and probably definitely don't want a guy like Sami pinning him but if they

Page 6: Web viewSasha and Charlotte are having a . thirty-minute. Ironman Match which should be great and I think Owens and Reigns will have a really good Universal Title match

think that Sami lasting ten minutes is going to come off as this great achievement for Zayn I think they're wrong because the whole thing will be underwhelming. I would have Sami beat Strowman to catapult him as a top star on Raw or trade him to SmackDown, unfortunately I can't see either happening. They could've even done a Sami must win to remain on Raw type of thing, that way Strowman could go over but it wouldn't be a bad thing for Sami because he'd be going to SmackDown where I think everyone agrees is the show he should be on. But they're going with this ten-minute thing and unfortunately that's how I see this going down, Sami will barely last ten minutes and he'll gain virtually nothing from it.

Chances of Winning:

N/A (I predict the match to end in a draw).

Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho: In a one on one match Seth Rollins takes on Chris Jericho here. This match will be good but I can't say I'm excited for it at all. We've already seen this

match before a couple of times on TV so how can you be excited about a PPV match you've already seen on Raw more than once recently. The matches they've had on Raw have been good and this one will be too, hopefully even a bit better but this match doesn't leap out to me as one I

Page 7: Web viewSasha and Charlotte are having a . thirty-minute. Ironman Match which should be great and I think Owens and Reigns will have a really good Universal Title match

can't wait to see. I would've rather seen both guys go into the Universal Title match and make it a four-way with Owens and Reigns but this is what we've got. Rollins says he wants Triple H but he's got to go through Jericho, Owens and so on to get him. Rollins versus Hunter is happening, whether it's at the Rumble or they'll save it all the way until Mania I'm not sure but I think Rollins wins this and it'll be his first step in his quest to get Triple H. We've seen the implosion of Owens and Jericho on TV in recent weeks, I'm still not sure if it's all an act and they'll remain a partnership or they really have broken the pair up. Owens could show his face in this match, maybe inadvertently or questionably inadvertently aid Rollins to victory but I don't really see another outcome here other than a Seth win.

Chances of Winning:

30-Minute Ironman Match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship: Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte: In a thirty-minute Ironman Match Sasha defends the Raw Women's Title against Charlotte. Now this match should be great no doubt but when you consider we've already seen this match five separate times recently it does take away from the excitement. I thought this feud was over and Charlotte was

moving on to feud with Bayley but they've gone and put the title back on Sasha yet again. It's been really messy the way they've thrown this title about. Sasha has now won it on three separate occasions on Raw after Charlotte regained the title both at SummerSlam and then Hell in a Cell in between. Five title changes is so much and I honestly wouldn't put it past them to do another here. After all Sasha winning it on Raw and Charlotte regaining it at the PPV seems to be the pattern. They have said this match is the end of the feud, there's no rematch clause here so you would assume whoever wins this will have Bayley as their next challenger and if that's the case they might want her challenging the heel in Charlotte. After all Charlotte is kind of the Roman Reigns of the Women's division, the one they've been shoving down our throats and they might want her ending the feud coming out on top with that PPV winning streak continuing. This match should be great though, it might even main event again, it wouldn't surprise me. I don't think this will be as good as the Ironman Match Sasha had with Bayley in NXT but it should still be great. I'm not knocking these girls or the work they've done with each other but if you see anything repeated enough you're eventually going to get sick of it but hopefully they end the feud here with a great match which I'm almost sure it will be and I only hope Sasha ends the feud still champion and

I'll say she does.

WWE Universal Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns: Kevin Owens defends the WWE Universal Title here against US Champion Roman Reigns. This should be a really good match, I'm not sure yet if this or Sasha and Charlotte will main event but I've always thought Owens and Reigns could have a fantastic PPV main event together. Whenever I've seen them wrestle they've showed the potential for that, Reigns beat Owens to earn this opportunity on Raw but I felt they were holding something back with the PPV title match here in mind. Although I'm not the biggest fan of this match taking place especially with Roman still US Champion. I really don't like when a top guy challenges for the world title when he's already holding a title, it was the same last year when Cena as US Champion started challenging Rollins for the world title. Although Cena was still doing the open challenges, what has Reigns done with the US Title since the feud with Rusev ended? A defence or two on TV against Jericho. That's been it, that title is just an accessory on him and I would've had him drop it in the build to this match maybe with Owens costing him the title to help build the feud. I'm sure the idea of Reigns holding both the Universal and US Title terrifies a lot of people but I don't rule it out. Owens hasn't been booked great since becoming champion, every title defence he's had he's needed Jericho's help to win. I know he's a heel but that's not an excuse to build him as a weak champion which is really what they've done. So he's hardly beating Reigns clean here and if his partnership with Jericho really is over

Page 10: Web viewSasha and Charlotte are having a . thirty-minute. Ironman Match which should be great and I think Owens and Reigns will have a really good Universal Title match

you think how will he come away from this still champion. I could still see Jericho helping him and they reunite or maybe something a little more interesting will happen perhaps involving Triple H, after all Owens is supposed to be his new golden boy. It depends what their Universal Title plans are as we head towards WrestleMania season, my dream scenario is Bálor returns to win the Rumble and goes after the title he never lost against Owens at Mania. But that might still be a pipedream at this stage but I will say Owens somehow finds a way to retain the title.
