Considerations for Teachers: Below is a model for distance learning. The model is based on one ‘Task of the day’, a choice of 1 or 2 activities, 2 physical/well-being activities and a reading activity, which will need to be adapted depending on the age and ability of the children. You may consider this to be too much for the children in your care and you will do it over 2 days. The rational behind the model is to allow as many children and parents possible to have access to Distance Learning and keep the engagement in learning. The first priority is the health and well- being of the children and the family. Within this model there is a combination of approaches to actively support this. Activities are easy to access with written and ‘voice over’ instructions available (Task of the Day) to enable you as teachers to facilitate the learning and parents/carers to support the learning. All activities can be done without the need for ICT or wifi connection. All activities are designed to be completed with resources that can easily be found in most homes. Please do not worry about getting them all completed or if they take longer than a day, that is fine. Choose a time that suits you and your child, this may change from day to day. To access a ‘Task of the day’ you just double click the word document icon. This will bring up another word document that has all the instructions you need to complete the task. Most of the things you will need for the task will be found in your home or nearby. If an app is mentioned, there will be a link below it with a ‘How to’ video to help you out. Considerations for Teachers:Below is a model for distance learning.

The first priority is the health and well-being of the children and the family.

A holistic approach to learning delivered through practical, play based/real life experiences. For example, everyday chores at home.

The activities are designed to be enjoyable and engaging, and encouraging talk and communication between the children and their family.

There are no time pressures or expectations of pupils/parents to complete all of it.

Maintaining regular contact and positive relationships with pupils and parents/carers.

Delete Teacher Considerations before sending the model to parents/carers
