ScienceWe will be looking at FORCES. These include pushes and pulls and magnetism. This will relate to our work on the Stone Age, considering how the stones of
Stonehenge were moved across the landscape.
We will also learn about skeletons in both animals and humans.
DTWe will practise our modelling skills making Stone Age dwellings and creating a settlement together.
After half term we will use recycled materials to create clothing for a fashion show with a prehistoric theme!
EnglishWe will write job adverts for Stone Age man and write instructions to help him to catch a
prehistoric animal.
Wilsford Class will also write stories inspired by our class story – Stig of the Dump.
Wilsford Class will continue to practise their handwriting and have weekly spelling tests every Wednesday.
TopicOur topic work will focus on the Stone Age and the people and animals
that lived at that time. We will look at the geographical features of Britain at that time, and study the clothes, dwellings and tools that were used
then. This will link into our learning about Stonehenge – a Neolithic World Heritage Site that is just a few miles away from Woodford Valley.
We will look at the Stone Age and see where it fits on a timeline.

Year 4 you need to learn all of your times tables this year!
