QCNYS Calendar of Events
SPRING EDITIONMarch 2015
Greetings from the President Hello Quilters and Friends, Oh my! It was below zero when I left New York at the end of January and the weather channel is telling me things have not warmed up. Cold days = good days to spend quilting! As I take a break from quilting to write to you today, I wish I could send some of my warm weather to you. (I'm working on my QCNYS Challenge Quilt -Lines & Angles of New York.) Thank you to our December hostesses at Candlelight Quilt Guild for providing us with a bright warm space, good food and the inspirational mini show & tell by some of their guild members. Special thanks also to our guest speaker, Jo Coons, for the funny and informative trunk - you kept us in "stitches!" I am unable to attend the March meeting, hosted by Webster Quilt Guild, but have had the inside scoop on many of the things planned by the guild. You are going to enjoy the meeting and the program presented by QCNYS Teacher Member Barb Miller, a Certified Instructor of the Judi Niemeyer technique. Val Schultz, QCNYS Vice President, will lead the March membership meeting and looks forward to telling you more about the 2015-16 QCNYS Quilt Challenge and the NY Beauty Raffle Quilt benefiting a Guild Scholarship. (Don't forget to print the agenda before the meeting). March is also the month we look for a Nominating Committee to start the search for a Vice President and Secretary for the 2016-17 term. Please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected] if you are interested in participating on the QCNYS Board or one of its committees or have a word with VP Val Schultz at the meeting. I look forward to hearing about the activities of the March meeting and will see all of you at the June meeting! Please if you have any ideas, questions or just want to say hi - email me at [email protected]. May your bobbin always be full!Ann Hawkins
