Year 2:https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/

English for 20th April – 1st May5. Going back to the documentary about the ocean. Can you do your own research about an interesting sea creature? Could you design a page of an information book about your creature? What could the title of your book be?6. Draw a picture of your chosen sea creature and label it’s features. Does it have fins? Does it have gills? What does it eat? Where does it live?7. The ocean has a huge variety of habitats for different animals. There are coral reefs, tidal zones, the open ocean and the deep ocean. Pick one of these habitats. What can you find out about this habitat? What animals might live there? 8. There is a huge problem at the moment with the amount of plastic ending up in the ocean. Watch the video in the link below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFPoIU5iiYQ&safe=active

What could we do to reduce the amount of plastic going into the ocean? Can you think of any single-use plastic (like plastic wrapping or straws) that could be replaced with non-plastic alternatives?9. It would be great if we could clear up the plastic in the ocean. There are some ideas already. Can you have a go at designing a machine whichcould collect plastic out of the ocean? Remember wedon’t want to hurt any of the animals which livethere so you need to be careful when designing. When you have finished designing your machine, canyou label it and describe how it works?
