CA Tutorial.Step 1:

Open Photoshop and Photo Bridge on the computer.

Step 2:

Open your photos in Photoshop using Bridge by double clicking each image.

Step 3:Open Photoshop and create a new document. Use the measurements – 2000 X 2500 pixels.

Step 4:Unlock the background layer by double clicking the lock icon.

Step 5:Add your background picture. Name this image ‘background texture’.

Step 6:

As this background picture is too small we must enlarge it. You can do this in two ways. Firstly you can click on the background texture and press ‘CTRL T’, to transform the image. Secondly you can select Edit> Free Transform and then enlarge the image.

Step 7:

Now add the picture of the sparkle lights to the image. Open this image and unlock it in the layers palette. Using the ‘Move’ tool, drag it onto the background texture image.

When you move the lights image, make sure it is underneath the background texture layer and rename it ‘lights’.

Step 8:

Now we’re going to make the lights shine through the background texture.Once you have the lights image in place, select the eraser tool. Make sure it it set to a sofe edge brush and the opacity is at 40% and begin to eraser the top part of the image. Make sure you are on the background texture layer while erasing.

Then keep taking the opacity down and erasing until you are happy with the image.

Step 9:

Next it’s time to add the picture of the towns. Open each of the pictures in Photoshop, unlock each layer and rename them.

Step 10:

Firstly we’re going to edit the image by changing tis colour. Select Image>Adjustments>Black and White.

Then use 169% for Red, -91% for yellow, 90% for green, 60% for cyans, 20% for Blues, and 80% for Magentas.

Step 11:

Using the Lasso tool, make your selection of the first town and copy it.

Step 12:

Once you have made th selection, paste it into your image with the background texture. Free transform the image and make it big enough to fit the bottom of the screen.

Make sure the image of the town is placed beneath the texture layer.

Step 13:

Select the background texture layer and use the erase tool just like we did in step 8 to reveal the town. Keep changing the opacity and erasing until you are happy with the image.

Step 14:

Next we’re going to edit the second picture of the town. Go to Image>Adjustments>Posterize and select level 6.

Step 15:

Next we’re going to use the magnetic Lasso tool to make a selection of the town. Once you’ve made the selection, copy and paste it onto the background texture. Once again, rename the layer, transform the image to make it bigger and make sure it is underneath the background texture layer.

Step 16:

Turn off the visibility of the background texture layer. Using the erase tool with the opacity turned down and remove any rough edges on the image. This helps the image to blend better.

Step 17:

Just like before, use the eraser tool to remove the background texture to reveal the picture of the town. Keep changing the opacity until you are happy and when the image has blended well.

Step 18:

Next we’re going to add the fireworks to the image. So add the image to Photoshop and unlock the layer.

Next select the words ‘love’ using the magic wand tool. Click on the words and then go to select>similar. This selects any part of the image that is similar to your original selection.

Step 19:

Copy and paste the fireworks onto the background image. Use the transform tool again to make it bigger and palace it at the top of the image. Make sure the firework layer is above the background layer in order for it to be seen.

Step 20:

Now we’re going to move onto the photos to add to the main image. For this image we’re going to create a heart shape. Load one of your imagees into photoshop that you want to use.

Next we’re going to use the ‘Custom Shape tool’.

At the top of the screen, select the heart shape.

Step 21:

Next draw the shape over the image. The heart will appear in black over the image.

Next rearrange the layers. Make sure the heart shape is underneath the image. Right click the image layer and select ‘start clipping mask’. Now the image is within the heart shape.

Step 22:

Click and drag the love heart image to your background texture to the rest of the images. Make sure it is below the texture layer so we can blend it with the other images..

Next transform the picture, so it fits in.

Step 23:

Now we’re going to add the rest of our images to the main picture and blend them all in together. Make sure to unlock each layer in order to move it, place them underneath the texture layer, and rename them.

Step 24:

Turn the visibility of the background texture off. Rearrange your images in whatever order you want them in.

Step 25:

Next we’re going to blend these photos in. Just like before, using the erase tool and different opacity’s we will blend each image into each other.

Once you are happy with how they are blended, turn the visibility of the background texture layer on.

Step 26:

Once the texture layer is visible, the images will disappear. Now using the erase tool once again, slowly erase the background texture layer to reveal each of the images.

Step 27:Finally, start to erase the background texture image to reveal your images and your final picture.
