Submission FormatThe submission is in the form of two written tasks. The tasks should be written in a concise and formal business style. As such, your choice of font face and font size should contribute to the clarity of the information. The tasks should be well-structured, using headings, sub-sections and paragraphs as appropriate. Any images, graphics, or text that is derived from other sources must be correctly referenced using a standard form of citation. A bibliography should be included and in a standard academic format. The recommended word limit is 3,000–5,000 words but you will not be penalised for exceeding the total word limit.

You are working as a junior engineer on a large 20 storey building containing both office and high-end residential apartments on the Greenwich Peninsula on the banks of the Thames. You have been tasked with preparing a detailed technical report on remediation works to the office building considering the ground type and location next to the Thames. You are then to go onto detail how building services are incorporated into the structure from both primary and internal services that serve the building. Task 1: Remediation works and pre-construction surveys and types of substructures appropriate to the building in question. This task should consider the pre-design requirements and surveys to undertake remediation work to the building in question. You are to investigate what type of remediation work best suits the outcomes considering the location of the proposed project and the local environment. This will need you to explain what types of substructure work is carried out by civil engineers put paying particular focus on the building in question. Task 2: Incorporation of primary and internal building services into the structure. You are to explain what primary services the building in question would require and what current regulations govern these plus how these essential services enter the building structure and what provision is made for these by the civil engineers. You are then to go onto to explain how the internal building services are safely distributed within the building superstructure paying close attention to the regulations applicable to these.

Both tasks should contain technical diagrams to illustrate the technical content. Each task is to be indexed carefully to appropriate sources to illustrate regulations and guidelines to both tasks.
