Lesson Description??

Next they will see the month and year reviewed and listen to the audio say what they are. Students will be able to approach the board and touch the screen to move it on to the next portion of the activity. The days of the week will be reviewed and then students will be able to participate in picking on which day of the week it is by again using the Smart Board.

Students will come to the group time carpet and sit down in order to view the Smart Board located on the wall. Starfall.com will be brought up on the Smart Board so that they may view the activity that is interactive.

Lesson Description?? (cont.)

Once the students have identified and verbalized these items, they are allowed to choose a background for their calendar. This would conclude the lesson.

Students will then move the day of the week and the number date to the appropriate place on the calendar. We would then review if there are any birthdays or holidays in the current month and if anyone had lost a tooth the night before to note it on the calendar. Again, all of this is interactive with the Smart Board.

How Is It Used?? How Did They Learn??

The website that is used during this lesson is a free website that anyone can access. Students can not only participate on the Smart Board at school, they can access the website at home with parents to continue learning or apps can be downloaded to facilitate learning anywhere!

In the classroom the website, along with the Smart Board, really lets the students be interactive with the program. Allowing students to listen and learn and see a finished product. Then going a step further, they can take the website pretty much anywhere and continue learning!
