ADVENT CALENDAR: As a unique Advent prayerful resource, the Irish Catholic BishopsConference has provided its online Advent 2017 Calendar which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The calendar is available online, and on your smartphone, on www.catholicbishops.ie. This years calendar focuses on the theme of family as we prepare together for next years World Meeting of Families in Dublin from 21 – 26 August. Each day during Advent, you are invited to click open a virtual door where you will find faith content for family, school and parish. During Advent, families are invited to take special time together to pray, to talk, and to be together. Aifreann Gaeilge/Irish Language Missal: A new translation of the Roman Missal into Irish has just been launched by the Irish Bishops. We would welcome ideas about how best we can use the Irish language in the Liturgy in St Michael s parish. Please let us know by contacting any one of the priests or by leaving your name and number at the Parish office (66322075). St Michael’s Parish Bookshop - We have a wide selection of Nativity sets, Christmas gifts and ornaments, Christmas cards and cards for all occasions, books and religious goods available. Also new books to enjoy at Christmas: To be Loved and to be Lovedby Father Desmond ODonnell; Finding God in the Massby Father Brendan McManus. We also have a wide range of greeting cards with details from the facade of the Church and pictures of the facade, all in various sizes, framed and unframed, designed and supplied by Devenish Gallery and available from the Bookstall in the church or our Parish Shop. All petitions will be prayed for by religious communities across Ireland and brought to the Final Mass of the World Meeting of Families in Dublin on 26th August next, at which, we hope, Pope Francis will preside.
