Waterford Harbor Homeowner's Association Newsletter - April 2008 April 2008 Volume 4, Number 2 Waterford Harbor Homeowner's Association Official Community Newsletter Waterford Harbor Letter from the President By Bob Bell The Board of Directors of the Waterford Harbor Home Owners Association (WHHOA) thank those of you who attended the Annual Meeting and voted for board members. For those of you that were unable to attend and have not heard, there will be no increase in assessments. Current services and beautification efforts will remain as they have been this year. We pledge to keep Waterford Harbor looking its very “best”. Our WHHOA manager, Darlene Ingle, will make drive-through visits twice a month to all neighborhoods to be sure everyone is doing their part to help maintain their properties. Letters will be sent to homeowners when she sees a problem that needs to be corrected. The new board held an informal meeting to get the new members and old members oriented to their work responsibilities for this year. The new board members, Sam Bana, Steve Rogers, and Keith Manual, are enthusiastic about serving on the board. Returning members, Gordon Phillipson, Scott Covington, and Donato Eassey, and are looking forward to keeping Waterford Harbor prime property. Sam Bana is to work with our extensive water irrigation system. Should you see a sprinkler head looking like “Old Faithful.” Please Contact Darlene Ingle, Sam or any board member with details so it can be repaired. Contact information has been updated for this issue. Steve Rogers is to take over the general maintenance responsibilities. All homeowners know that it takes constant work, even on a new house, to keep it maintained and attractive. Fortunately for us, Steve has a good eye for spotting something wrong and knowing what it takes to fix it. If you see something that Darlene or the board has missed that needs attention, please do not hesitate to contact someone on the Contact List. An e-mail note also works well and gets the job done without a lot of time being spent. Keith Manuel will assist Scott “The Sheriff” in Security. Will that make him “Barney”? We live in such a safe and peaceful neighborhood it is hard to believe we need two people to handle security, but there is a lot of action involving Security. New construction, remodeling and repair brings many contractors and materials through the front gate daily. The Guards keep up with each one individually, recording when they come in and denying access if they have been put on the “persona non grata” list for various reasons such as driving too fast or because they are working on unapproved projects. Security is our “local 911”. If you see something that needs immediate attention call the front gate and talk to a guard. They can usually help. The gate phone number is 281-538-4630. We have a very good working relationship with our security providers, and one of the reasons is constant coordination and communication by Scott Covington who handles problems as they develop. Homeowners can assist the Guards by calling the gate when you are expecting guests to tell them whom you are expecting so they can let your guests in without calling you. This will make it easier for everyone, especially when the weather is good and you are outside. Gordon Phillipson will serve as the Board liaison to the Design Approval Committee (DAC), our hardest working committee that meets by phone almost daily and have bi-weekly meetings to study and approve submitted plans or make suggestions for changes so they are in compliance with the established guidelines. Gordon will keep the Board informed on the DAC activity that needs board action and help interface with the homeowners. The DAC committee is always on call to preserve the overall appearance of Waterford Harbor. Donato Eassey has been, and will continue to be, Board Treasurer. He does not take the job lightly. He spends a considerable amount of time keeping the Homeowner’s Association money hard at work earning us the best safe return on our money. He serves us well. Donato also serves as a pinch hitter, if the board needs help on other matters he jumps in to help. Don't want to wait for the mail?
