If you see a must-have color used during demos you can always pick up a tube. Sandy’s palette includes Daniel Smith colors: Nickel Azo New Gamboge Aussie Red Gold Yellow Ochre Burnt Sienna Burnt Umber Perylene Maroon Anthraquinoid Scarlet Moonglow Cobalt Teal Blue Cobalt Blue Serpentine Genuine Sap Green Green Apatite Genuine Perylene Green Payne’s Blue Gray Neutral Tint Phthalo Blue Turquoise Brushes: large round brushes and mops ; a smaller brush may also be desired but most of the work will be done with large brushes. (In- structor uses round brushes Winsor Newton Series 7 #10, Maestro #14, Casaneo #20.) Gator or other board to support paintings and either an easel or something to prop the board at an angle. Small towel or household sponge Absorbent paper towels, baby wipes Spray bottle Large water container Palette (plastic or metal) Pencil, soft eraser Large water container Artist or masking tape 3/4” Printed photos will be provided. Bring a tablet or ipad if desired, will airdrop reference photos. Watercolor paper - 1-2 sheets of Arches or Saunders Waterford 140lb, either cold press or rough. Blocks are ok. No student grade paper. Sandy Allnock’s love of watercolor will be poured out into students in this 2 day workshop - all about trees! A wide variety of techniques will be demonstrated and practiced in this class. The class will cover four demonstrated step by step paintings, with students completing each pass to create their own tree studies. Sandy will inspire painters to try something new and address possible roadblocks to advance their skills. While all levels of students are welcome, beginners should come ready to dive in with enthusiasm - this isn’t a basics course, but Sandy’s excited to share her own big artistic “AHA” moments to help others learn to overcome their challenges in watercolor. Don’t forget to pack a lunch!
