Advantages of Electrochemical Treatment over Biological Treatment: In comparison to biological treatment Electrolysis has less moving parts and less unit process.

There is no need to maintain MLSS and pH. It is temperature independent and starts and

stop operation at will. It is toxicity tolerant and there is no need to revive bacteria.

Electrolysis generates less GHG (green house gas) and does not deplete oxygen from atmosphere & water bodies. It does not cause stream/pond eutrofication and has an odor

free and noiseless operation.
